You probably still can. Have you tried using a dark powder eye shadow and eyeliner brush? You can use the brush dry for a subtle line or wet for darker. It's much easier than a pencil. Bobbi Brown do a good eyeliner brush, if there's a counter near you, you could check it out and perhaps find a cheaper option.

Black eyeliner can be a bit harsh, depending on your colouring. I prefer dark brown, or charcoal grey.

i use dark brown powder and a cotton bud, softer ad defines the eye more, rather than look like you are wearing lots of eyeliner, and less likely to smudge (i have bought cheap liners, expensive liners and they all seem to smudge a little by the end of the day. Not lots but enough to make me look tired).

If you use liner, grey/brown, depends on hair/eye colour, you could even get away with a soft other colour.

I have a Ruby and Millie eyeliner pot called i-paint. It is slightly waxy and I put it on with an eyeliner brush. I have black but I can't remember if they do it in other shades or not.

Mac do what you are talking about. its really good.

I personally use liquid liner every day, it stays on perfectly all day, unless sometimes when I laugh too much I cry a bit and it comes off at the sides so I have to carry it around with me all the time

I also wear black, and I don't think it is too harsh if you have dark eyes. For light eyes, it's usually too harsh.

i wish i could apply eyeliner!

Laura mercier do one. I have it in a very dark blue colour - bit softer than black, but doesn't look blue at all.

my mac liquid one must be nearly 1 by now and is still absolutely fine.

so you are in holland? not sure what makeup you have there, but any reasonably expensive eyeshadow should do (more pigment)
