Above shoulder, fine hair, Dyson air wrap

Nearly 40 years on this planet and I still haven’t found a way to successfully curl my hair. Hairdresser does it brilliantly with straighteners (although they do drop fairly quickly) I don’t have the patience to do it well with straighteners (tried many, many times), got the Babylis thing that gobbles up your hair, but nope. Do I need to spend £300+ on the Dyson? Or would it be a waste because I’m too impatient?! My hair is just above my shoulders, very fine, not much thickness at all.

In my experience if it won't curl, it just won't curl. Another £300 spent on fancy gadgets won't fix it.

Have you thought about a perm?

I have a similar hair type. Cant comment on the Dyson as don't have one, but use the remington styler brush thing that dries to get some volume in my roots, with color wow raise the root spray. Then just use a cordless curling tong after to get waves.

Have tried with straighteners myself and just doesn't curl mine either!

Do you want it curly/wavy all the time? Perms are still a thing you know! With a proper up to date haircut they don't look dated. You can choose tighter or looser curls - if your hair is very straight I think they usually recommend looser, so that there isn't an obvious line around your parting when your nee hair grows through. I think they're only suitable if you haven't got colour on your hair though.
