Does anyone have a pair of these that’s had them for a while 6 months or more? Has it reduced damage to your hair?

I’m considering taking the plunge, purely for the ‘health’ benefits to my hair. However, I haven’t tried a pair so no idea if they really don’t use heat and are less damaging like they claim. I wouldn’t buy them if not.

I think it depends on what you are doing to your hair currently. I don't think it will fix your hair if already damaged but it won't damage it noticeably either IMO unless you use it on the higher heat settings.

I previously had chemically straightened but healthy hair, and used it for a few months and didn't notice any damage at all. I was only using the higher heat setting at the end to finish the look though.

I will say though that I now only use it on my fringe as I've found out how to take care of my masses of 2c very wavy hair and that is less effort than the ~45 minutes it was taking me to use the Airstrait. Your experience may vary though if you have less hair and or less pronounce waves etc. I do love it for my fringe though and use it every day.

I absolutely love mine and have no hair damage and don’t always use heat protector. It gives a straight and smooth look without being flat like you get from straighteners.
its just like using a hair dryer in terms of heat but no need to faff with brush to style it.

It's the best thing I ever bought. My hair is thin and wavy so I've straightened it for years because it just looks wild otherwise. Definitely better for hair than straighteners. You can use it dry too. Love it!

Oh god. I was hoping people would say, nah, save your money, it’s crap 🙈 I can feel an expensive purchase coming on!

I have curly, frizzy hair, top layers damaged due to bleach. I love it straight but hate the damage I get from straighteners. I probably straighten 3-4 times a week so I think (hope) the airstrait could really help get my hair in better condition.

Op, it’s the best thing I’ve ever bought.

i have curly frizzy thick hair that i used to spend hours drying with a hairdryer, then straightening it, then curling then putting product in to try and smooth it out. Now I can completely dry and straighten my hair in 30 mins.

total game changer. It did take me a while to work out how to use it for maximum results so prepare to experiment with the amount of hair you do in each section, how hot to have it, how much to dry it on the wet setting then when to change to dry. But it’s absolutely ace

It is amazing how smooth and shiny it gets.
You can get them second hand for loads cheaper at CeX. I got it a couple of months ago.
And it's pretty quick at drying, too.
The downside for me is that it is utterly straight even at the ends, and as I have a lot of hair, that just ends up sitting there like a blunt curtain. I need a little movement or curl in there somehow, and I'm not sure how to get it without getting the AirWrap, which is way more expensive - plus I tried it years ago and didn't get on with it them, but maybe it would be better now.
I'm trying to use a curling wand/tong thing on the ends afterwards, but it's hard to get the curls to stay, which is ironic given how madly wavy/frizzy/curly my hair is if I let it dry naturally!! But it's far too wild like that, at least since menopause.
So the Airstrait it is, and I'll figure the ends out some day.

PinkFrogss · 16/11/2025 15:16

It’s been a game changer to me and I’m already noticing less split ends just a month in to using.

I’ve also found my hair can go an extra day without a wash.

Okay, after much, much deliberating, I’m going to invest! I’ll get some money for Christmas from in-laws and my parents which should cover most of it and I have £50 Amazon vouchers that I can put towards it too.

My dilemma now is do I buy it now whilst there’s a bit off on Amazon for Black Friday with my own money (I am totally skint atm, it’d have to come out of my (paltry) savings) or wait and see if they have a Jan sale and get it with my Christmas money?! Argh, decisions!

This had better be worth it!

what did you do in the end.

I’ve had mine for 18 months I love it so so much. I have thick curly hair and to blowdry it with a hair dryer it’s an hour or longer. Then 45 mins to straighten it. With the airstraight it’s 30 mins and maybe 10 to straighten

I don't have thick hair, it's quite fine and fly away, but I've tried my friends and it makes a lovely job of my hair, so I've taken the plunge and have ordered one for collection today. 😅

Hope you enjoy it!

I am still liking mine, but still struggling with how to curl the ends afterwards. I even bought an airwrap to try out in the end, but it didn't get it as smooth or shiny as the airstrait. Yet the ends still look a bit awful with the airstrait, so if anyone has any suggestions for that, I'd be grateful! Nothing will hold curls in after I've used the airstrait. I've tried curling tongs, beachwaver rotating iron, curl secret, overnight satin heatless wraps, etc, and I've tried L'oreal techni art pli spray, Mark Hill curl hold spray, mousse, hairspray afterwards, cold shots, spray with water first, everything I can think of! But the curls just won't hold if it's been airstraitened first. It's so frustrating, as I love the speed and smoothness of the airstrait. But the blunt ends just look awful after about half a day. At first I can get away with it as they are fairly soft and still smooth, but by later in the day, they look like I haven't even tried to do anything with my hair
