Hair curler for fine bob length?

Looking for a fool proof way to create waves in fine thin long bob length hair.

I have never been able to do this with usual curling tongues or straighteners- it just ends up looking like a dog’s dinner. So I was wondering if a Dyson style wrap thing would be better but they all look huge and I can’t see how they work on shorter hair.

plus is thin fine hair just going to mean it’s a no no? If I use much product it just goes horribly greasy looking and flat immediately and no way could I style the classic ‘day old wash’ hair. It has to be washed just before going out else it looks horrific.

are waves just not possible with my type of hair?

Have you tried a heatless curl band? I have shoulder length hair and use one on my hair when it’s still slightly damp. I either wear it all day or sleep in it and get lovely curls that last. They drop after about a day to nice waves. If you do try one look closely at the pictures as a lot are made of a hard silk covered tube and they are not great to sleep in, aim for the softer looking bendy ones.
i also have a babyliss curl pro gadget which sucks the hair in and gives fab curls but i cant use it too often as i have dry hair and the heat kills it.

I find a curling wand the easiest - different from curlers

I had mine permed…it’s fabulous!

I came on to ask exactly this question! I just chopped 20 cm off my hair and now it’s a short bob and I have no idea how to make it wavy on my own - I just don’t have the m manual dexterity to do tongs etc ! Do you use mousse or texturising spray or…..??

@Fluffywithteeth i have no idea!

Too many products just make my fine thin hair even flatter and yet I can’t see waves holding without product.

maybe we just aren’t destined to have waves!

I am useless at hair. I can't do the lovely waves with a straightener thing. However I just bought a curling wand and I am getting on really well with it. I section my hair and just twist small pieces around the wand and hold for a few seconds. I don't use any product at all and it falls from curls to waves really nicely. I have fine hair. I bought the Babyliss wand, about £24 on Amazon I think.

😆 @Threadcounting ! I dreamed of having mad curly hair! Instead fine, flat. Like a rat drenched in rain

oh that’s interesting @willowstar - I might give that a go!
