Help with airport outfit

Dh has surprised me with a longhaul winter sun holiday in December after what has been a rough year for me healthwise. Trouble is I've only flown longhaul once before and that was 12 years ago in the summer.

I need help with what to wear and where I should look. Can anyone give me some suggestions?

We went long haul in December and took Coats to the airport and left them in the car , the airport was very warm so didn’t need them in there . For travelling I like to go in a Tshirt, leggings and a hoodie with trainers , i always take a wrap for the plane just incase and shorts in my hand luggage if you’re going somewhere hot or there’s the alternative of wide leg pants , Tshirt and shirt with a cardigan over the top with a wrap for extra warmth .
I like H&M for basics and primark do great scarves that are big enough to use as a wrap . I don’t wear jeans as I swell up on long haul which is why i prefer trainers as you can loosen the laces .

Dress for comfort, shoes that are easy to put on and take off and layers.

Most people really dress down and for comfort on long haul flights. Tracksuits, layers, comfy shoes that come off easily.

I wear these joggers:

With a t-shirt and this long sleeved top over the t-shirt:

I do a lot of long haul and find this ideal for going to a hot country. They are all lightweight so you're not going to end up in a pool of sweat when you arrive, yet they are warm enough for the flight.

On my feet I have flight socks and Crocs. I got some colourful compression/flight socks from Amazon.

Crocs are good because they allow space for your feet to swell and obviously they are very comfortable and useful while away.

Whatever you do, don't wear shorts or a sundress because you will be too cold on the plane.

Change of top in case something gets spilled on you.

Yes. And actually, ideally shorts, t-shirt and knickers in the hand luggage in case your luggage doesn't make it.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I am prone to swelling so will avoid jeans and will probably go for trainers so I can loosen my laces. I

@dizzydizzydizzy would you say that the joggers are true to size?

I'm going to recommend you avoid the wide leg trousers on long haul, they are a pain to keep off the floor when going to the toilet, and the toilet floor after a few hours is not somewhere I'd want the bottom of my trousers to be resting on!

Yes, they are true to size. Also reasonably long in the leg - I’m 5’9” and they work for me. Due to the cuffed ankle, I think they would also work if you are several inches shorter. Maybe not if you are only 5’.

let me know what you think when they arrive if you buy them.

i’m thinking of asking DM to me another pair for Xmas. I love tbem.
