They are soooooooooo wide since having hte dc's and ditching high heels and my big toes are disgusting with really hard skin that cracks (sorry if tmi) in the summer. Heels not great but not too embarrassing. Have tried flexitol on toes and other foot creams.
So I need to know, are my feet stuck this wide or will they get better if I cram them into high heels instead of slobbing in flip flops? What on earth will make my toes less scabby?

p.s the only reason they aren't Hobbit-hairy too is coz I shave my toes

It sounds like you may need to go up a size rather than cramming your feet into your normal shoes to make them more 'lady like!'

get into the routine of grating your toes and hee after every shower and bath, that way you keep on top of the problem.

Moisturise every night to, and sometimes go to bed with cotton socks on, helps the cream soak in.

I already moisturise twice a day. Grating them makes me squeamish but I guess I need a foot file

Yep, you need to slough off the dead stuff.

Rubbing cream into cracked thick skin won't stop the problem.

Have you ever had a pedicure?

chiropodist

£30 well spent, better than a salon pedicure

My lovely friend organised a feet party a couple of weeks ago. She booked a local chiropodist for the evening (and bargained down a discounted rate for a block booking), and we all went round to hers with a bottle of wine. Nice chiropodist saw us one by one in another room and did some amazing things with a sander and file and the odd scalpel, while everyone else drank and had a chat in the front room. And now we all have beautiful feet and good advice about fungal infections, cracked skin, corns etc etc. I'd recommend it as my skanky feet can now be maintained by me, and I'd probably never have bothered otherwise (I was a chiropodist virgin, and did shave my toes beforehand in case of embarrassment, just so you know).

Aren't chiropodists medical rather than beauty iykwim?

MrsBadger · 07/06/2008 13:35

yes, and hence much better qualified to deal with serious dead skin

have been thinking about it as whenever I have pedicures my feet look nice for an afternoon but no long term solution. Saw a card at the local health centre for a chiropodist so might give him a call.
