ok, I am need bottom half items, that will be comfy and casual but not middle ageish to take on hols

I am despairing as i have been to town twice and there is nothing, have tried asda, nothing. I am confused. Shorts look awful, I am 14-16 and short 5 4.

I got one pair of linen type khaki/slightly combat and they are ok for chucking on. I even wore them to the pub for lunch the other day, which was very brave.

They are just on the knee, and wide so don't make my legs look to porkous.

What am I looking for> I love those fifties tyle skirts, but when I put them on they cut my legs in half and the ones i have found suddenly have too many pleats whick make me look too triangular.

I swear I cannot go away ( just to mums in spain) with one pair of shorts, and two pair of jeans.

linen trousers look nice but just show too much wobble.

don't run away screaming in horror when you realise the item I'm about to suggest is from m&s - the classic collecion

they have cropped trousers in white, acqua and beige and a pink that you would think would look like a pair of pyjama bottoms but is actually lovely on. all about £15

my mum has a couple of pairs (again, I know, it's not the best endorsement...) and they look great with a pair of wedges or pumps

i'm going to try some on when i go over to the uk

Slightly thicker material linen trousers? Nice and floaty but not too thin?
