I’m in my 50’s but suddenly want a pair of these boots. Just the Chelsea boot style ones, but are they really as bad to wear in as people say?

Thanks all for your replies, will read them all and decide which to go for.
Ive always bought Clark’s Chelsea boots before, but they just aren’t the same quality anymore, and for the price I’d rather get longer lasting DM’s.

Sorry, but I think you’ll be disappointed with DM quality.

The price would have told you the difference. Smile They started making them in China in the 1990s.
I bought a pair in about 2016 and although they looked great the quality wasn't. I wore them a few times then sold them - I'm not heavy on my shoes but they were not going to last.

@PersephoneParlormaid , DMs are 'fashion shoe' quality these days. I doubt they'll last longer than the Clark's.

They have different types of leather. Some never wear in and some can be worn from day 1 so make sure you get the right leather.
