Would you judge my lash lift please. Where am I going wrong?

I use Luxe lash lift kits at home and tint them at the same time. I’ve done them about 6 times now and while I prefer the look with the lift to how my lashes are naturally (very straight and I also dislike wearing mascara) I feel like they’re not quite right. They seem false and doll-like when I want a natural look with lift but not curl. They also look a bit clumpy.

I use the largest pad (so the least curl) and I always follow the instructions, leaving the products on for the lowest time that it recommends. I’m careful not to get product on the ends. I have a lot of trouble getting the pad to stick down that’s the biggest issue, so I put lash tape on my lids first to help the pads stick (I read this somewhere and it does help).

Should I use rods instead of pads or something? If so recommendations welcome. Thanks!

These look pretty good to me 🤷🏻‍♀️

My eye always weeps and only half of them lift so it looks bizarre

I think they look great
A beautician told me once that lash lifts done all the time will have less effect , maybe best kept for holidays and special occasion ?
I think yours look natural and very nice

I pay £50 for professional
and I have to say… mine look a heck of a lot better than this

This is a picture with one before and one that I’ve just lifted. I like the way they look when they’re just done like this, but they seem to clump together afterwards. I follow the aftercare advice and don’t get them wet, I use the oil supplied and keep brushing them upwards.

I had them done in a salon once and loved the look the whole time it lasted but it cost more than I can afford to pay regularly. They also must have got some product in my eyes because it really stung, which I assumed was an unavoidable part of the process but never happens when I do them myself!

I think they look great. I also hate wearing mascara. I don’t think they look doll-like but you might think this because you can see so much of the under upper eyelid bit (upper waterline?) Tightlining with a soft eyeliner (grey/brown) will look fab and bring it all together.

@IsMNRoffI bet they do, I’d do that too if I could afford it. But I buy the kits when they’re on offer (usually 2 for 1) and it works out around £5 a lift.

Thank you to those who say they look ok.

And how frequently are you doing it? How long does it last?

YesIReallyDidOK · 06/11/2025 09:17

The shield placement on your eyelid isn't correct (try a glueless shield, they're shaped and sit on your lids much better), the lash placement on the shield isn't correct, the solution hasn't been put in the right place, and they're under processed.

If you're determined to do it yourself get a glue balm rather than a glue, which will give you more time to get the lashes in the right place (they need to be brushed straight upwards and isolated). The solution shouldn't be on the ends of the lashes, and your lashes take longer than the minimum time to process properly.

WeekendInNewEngland · 06/11/2025 09:21

Hmm I do them maybe every 8 weeks. I’d say they last for 4 or 5 weeks? I must make a note this time. When I got them done at the salon (cost about £50) I don’t think it lasted longer than when I do them myself but it might have.

I don’t do them more often mainly because it’s fiddly and time consuming but also because I worry I might damage my lashes!

@YesIReallyDidOK that’s the kind of detailed critique I’m after thank you! I thought I was doing the right thing by leaving it on for the lowest time but I will stop doing that then. I do try not to get it on the ends but I suppose as my lashes are short it’s tricky not to. I thought I was brushing them straight up but must not be? And I definitely find it hard to isolate the individual lashes but must pay more attention next time.

I’m going to get the products you recommended, thank you again.

I think they look pretty good. Brushing straight up is important. I like the clear comb thing to do that. I no longer buy the kit - just the refills.
I swapped out the glue and the pads for ones I got on amazon and they really improved the outcome. this stuff is way easier and more successful for me and I also use these pads now [[https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0DGL6J533? which I have cut down as far too wide for me.
I have never had a salon get better results than the ones I get doing it myself.

WeekendInNewEngland · 06/11/2025 09:50

@thesugarbumfairy thank you that’s really helpful. When you say you use the refills what do you mean?

I just mean I buy the sachets only now https://luxe-cosmetics.com/products/eyelash-lift-sachet-refill luxe-cosmetics.com/products/eyelash-lift-sachet-refill]]]] because their glue is horrible and I don't need any of the other bits

WeekendInNewEngland · 06/11/2025 10:31

Ah I see, I didn’t realise that you could do that, I will do that from now on. I agree their glue is rubbish and also their pads.

Hi OP here, just revisiting this thread as I’m going to have another try at a home lash lift soon so I need to get the glue and pads recommended. The glueless pads in the link are unavailable now, can anyone recommend another brand please? Also I’m confused about whether to order small, medium, large or a mixture: I don’t want super curly eyelashes just a natural lift. Thanks!
