Which colour of jeans?

Looking to buy a new pair of wide leg jeans and can't decide. I think I prefer the first pair as would wear them more but would you say they'd be dark enough for going out for drinks, evenings etc or even night out?

I prefer dark jeans but I certainly wouldn’t consider them suitable for wearing for drinks/evenings or nights out!

I don’t like the light stitching on the dark pair you have selected.

What is this magical website where things come in regular and hourglass fit. I need that in my life!

I am not keen on the stitching much either just wondered about the dark rinse.

What do you mean you certainly wouldn't consider them for drinks? Jeans are acceptable to wear for drinks?

I just got black flared jeans from M&S for nights out.

Wide leg look at sainsbury's. They have a very nice light wash pair or the blue like the ones you linked but I think the light is more modern.

Out of the 2 you posted get the lighter blue.

I have got black skinnies and slim jeans and so many pairs of black wide leg trousers so was looking for a different colour in wide leg jeans.

@mumsandaunties it's just Next! I am tall so need a longer length. 34 is too long but next do 33"

Next. I just got myself some hourglass ones and they fit beautifully

I’m no help as I’d probably get both…

narniabusiness · 02/11/2025 21:16

Personally I don’t like rinse as the dye rubs off on things (like my hands) so I can never wear them with something light. I would also go for black if you want something dressier than the mid blue.

Indigo only !

Why?

Dark jeans are perfectly fine for drinks/evening out!

I do agree about the light stitching though, it makes them look too casual. I would keep looking for similar with stitching that matches the denim colour. M&S long length might work for you, I've been rather impressed with their jeans lately. Or maybe the black version of the Next ones.

thesugarbumfairy · 03/11/2025 11:03

My favourite jeans at the moment are the M&S patch pocket flares in indigo (which are mostly sold out at the moment - but I got mine off vinted for a steal as they come up quite often) I also have them in the lighter blue but I feel like the indigo looks a bit less casual. They are quite high waisted and look lovely with a nice top or fancy glittery jumper. So whilst I think darker look smarter for nights out - in response to your actual question - I don't really see an issue with lighter if you think you will wear them more often.

It's black. It's more versatile and dirt-resistant.
