Tell me your favourite niche hair accessories I probably haven't heard of

I'm looking for hair comb slides that don't break or fall out, pins for an updo that don't pull your hair out when you take them out, non bulky claw clips if such a thing exists, and anything else you love.

I did a search for hair comb slides for fine hair and discovered a brand I'd never heard of so it made me think there's probably loads of niche brands like that.

I’ve started using french pins. There are a few sizes but I like the small ones. Lipbalm for scale!

Those hair pins are advertised at me non-stop on instagram @AlmostDidIt! Are they good for thick hair?

GrimDamnFanjo · 01/11/2025 16:33

Funnily enough I’ve just got some French pins. Was amazed they work!

I'm looking for volumising techniques that don't involve putting product on your hair.

Woweehooha · 01/11/2025 16:48

Can those using French pins please give us a link?
I’ve been considering these for my fine, thin hair but have not seen great reviews of the Lialys ones Instagram keeps foisting on me!

Edited

Yes, if you get the bigger ones. They are really good.

Thank you, was looking at the French pins but not sure how well they work on fine hair. Looks like it's worth a go!

The only trick I know is to blow dry your hair upside down, and/or use rollers or a curling wand to life the hair at the root.
I've just bought an airwrap and get a lot of volume as opposed to using straighteners.

@AlmostDidIt @GrimDamnFanjo do you have any particular brands or links where to buy them please? I've seen them on Amazon but not sure if they are any good.

Try the ReverieHair brand. I really like it and it's very niche, so you won't have the same style.

If you have curly hair, a silk lined beanie is a game changer

Hair screws. They look like a double screw, a bit like a strand of DNA and you twist them in to your hair.

I have fine hair and they will keep it up all day.
