What do you think would be more popular?

Or what would you prefer?

A beauty treatment in your own home/at a salon/or in a home salon setting?

I'm talking mainly things like waxing, eyebrow treatments etc

Do you think there is much demand for mobile beauty treatments?

I would love to find a good mobile beauty therapist and a mobile hairdresser for that matter. Sadly hard to come by where I live as people seem to be setting up home salons.
My friend (who has a home salon) told me she wouldn’t offer certain treatments mobile as she couldn’t regulate the temperature in other people’s houses and that could affect the products.

But I think for some people, myself included, there is still a market!

Also noted your name- are you thinking aesthetics?

I would love a mobile massage therapist - the worst thing for me after a massage is having to leave and go home; would be great for them to go 😹

No, I'm not looking into aesthetics such as Botox, lip filler etc

I'm looking to maybe go into the beauty therapy side of things, massage etc.

I'm just wondering if it's an oversaturated market.

I wouldn’t say over-saturated as such, good massage therapists are hard to find in my experience, but rather under-demand. I think skin care and facials are having such a boom at the moment it would be more lucrative? However if massage is your passion then you will attract the right clients who will likely be repeats.

VenusClapTrap · 05/11/2025 19:05

I have used all three, but I generally prefer a proper salon. That said, at the moment I’m going to a lady who has a home salon, and I put up with the slightly creaky bed and less than ideal room because she’s quite simply the best masseuse and facialist I’ve ever been to (in nigh on thirty years of using therapists, in myriad places around the world).

If you’re good, the clients will come, and word will get out.

I think the market is huge. Some mothers may not have time to go to beauty salons to take care of their children, and some office workers may not have the energy to go to beauty salons after work. At this time, mobile beauty salons become very important.

Honeypizza · 06/11/2025 14:21

I would personally prefer to go to a salon or a home salon and wouldn't want to have treatments in my own home. I would need to make sure the house is clean and tidy beforehand (which isn't always the case midweek) or I'd have DH/DC floating around.
