I’m seeing crows feet and a couple of vertical lines going down my cheeks.

I’m 50 next birthday so need some wonderful face cream / serum recommendations that actually work 🙏🙏🙏

I’ve been looking at the Nip & Fab range - has anyone used these?

Have you considered tretinoin? Made a huge difference to my skin but is a long game!

Are you already using a retinol/retinal?

Nope. I have good skin and have mostly used natural oils when i need a bit of moisture like rosehip - but not every night.

Try to remember to wear a spf year round.

Tret won't change your skin in weeks, but it will over months and years. It's a prescription cream that actually improves the skin rather than making the symptoms look temporarily better.

I really like the Prevage serums, they're spendy but a sample size from ebay lasts ages.

I think the effect of going to a beauty salon is more obvious.

Yes - particularly if you sign up for a course of cream + electrostimulation treatments. Expensive and effective. There's also LED treatments, well regarded but I haven't tried them.

Also start using tretinoin.

Make sure to put spf lip balm on as well. I’ve always worn sun screen from when we knew the dangers (I’m 58), but it never dawned on me to specifically protect my lips with an spf balm. I’ve just finished a course of chemo cream for Solar Ketatosis on my lower lip for pre cancerous cells due to sun exposure. The treatment has been truly awful and so painful, but it was necessary, so glad I went to my G.P with constantly flaky lips.

I’ve been so shocked at the diagnosis, even on sun cream adverts they don’t concentrate on using an spf on the lips, so wrong.
