I have been out to buy new trousers and jeans and I have to shout "Halleluja" and "Praise Be" ... we have come out of dark times and are walking back into the light .... for it is now socially acceptable to wear ...

'Mid rise' jeans and trousers
No more 'mummy tummy' spilling over my waistband
No more 'muffin top' spilling over the side
No more bending over to pick up a small child and worrying that the whole world will see my bum crack ...
Now I have a warm tummy and warm kidneys ...

Maybe the higher rise trousers have been around for a while in the UK but I haven't been shopping for trousers for a couple of years and I am in Australia after all ... but ...

These are good times ...

RambleOn · 05/06/2008 23:56

Ahh, yes but they make your arse look like the size of a continent after a decade of low rise

Halleluja indeed!

No more hoisting the things up every 30 seconds because they keep falling down.

Arse looks like the size of a continent anyway and I never found low rise that flattering on most people, including me, due to many people having their stomachs hanging over the top and their thongs on display.

bigmouthstrikesagain · 06/06/2008 00:06

Until the 'Busty 18thC serving wench' look is in fashion I have resigned myself to looking not that great - some of us are not designed for trousers or most modern 'leisure' wear

Until that day I will wear my low risers out of a desire for comfort over style.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 06/06/2008 00:14

Ah thongs...yes. They were a mainstay for me until I got pg second time around. Wore them through most of hte pg. Absolutely CANNOT abide them now.

Something to do with second pg piles.............

VeniVidiVickiQV · 06/06/2008 00:15

I never liked low-rise jeans or trousers. I have a 'long' pelvis so were always uncomfortable and I had to wear a belt to stop them gaping.

ghosty · 06/06/2008 00:17

I find low rise sooooo uncomfortable and I have always hated them ...
And it is nothing to do with size at all ... I am a size 10 - but to have jeans that don't feel like they are falling down all the time is the nicest feeling ... they sit where they are supposed to fit ...
The ones I have bought sit just under my belly button and are just the best thing ever
It was getting ridiculous ... I stopped shopping for trousers when it felt I couldn't find any that came higher than my pubes ...
