Trainers at 50

I'm nearly 50. What trainers to wear? I will only wear them with jeans and baggy trousers.
I got some beige and white Nike high tops, but I don't know.. I don't even know whether I should wear the tongue in or out.
I think I would prefer a slimmer trainer, sort of pump style. I don't want to look like I'm trying too hard, I don't want to wear the same as the kids, I don't want to look like a cliche, but I do want to look vaguely cool.
Even worse, they must provide some support. I used to wear Gola tennis all the time and they are no good for my feet, hips or gait I actually used to wear them a lot before they were everywhere, in OB etc - but that's a coincidence, I'm not setting any trends over here.

I went for Hoff Seoul - bargain price of £65 online at Marks and Spencer!
I had been considering Hoffs for a while. Women at work tell me they are comfortable when on your feet a lot, plus they look great.
The Seoul are dark shades though, so now I'm still looking for a light coloured pair.

Have a look at Walsh trainers:

British, well made and highly respected but not as ubiquitous as the brands you’re looking at.

A great shout, thank you! Love the look of these. The European style looks like an improved Reebok Classic. I will have a peruse and probably try a pair of these. I might get some for husband for Christmas too.

You get these are not remotely what you asked for in your op right, 😃

Why that?

I'm 51.

I have never liked Hi-tops, ugly things. At the moment I am wearing a pair of white trainers from All Saints. I wanted Veja but they were uncomfortable. Similarly Gazelles didn;t fit me right.

I find a nice slim looking white trainer is very versatile but some of the coloured ones are nice too.
