Lycra running leggings that don’t fall down.

Spiderwitheoneeye · 26/10/2025 01:28

Ive bought so many running leggings over the years, in so many sizes and price points but none seem to stay up, bar one pair from the Asda sale which are now virtually threadbare.

Any recommendations please?

I really love Reebok Lux high-rise leggings, they come in 7/8 length too if you're short.

Always have a problem with normal trousers where the waistband always gapes at the back, problem of being both short and having disproportionately bigger hips/bum than waist

These have done well enough for me. In contrast to what others have said I find picking a size that feel too tight initially works best (like a bra) because the elastic tends to loosen a bit after a few wears.

M&S Good Move, they are Sweaty Betty copies for a fraction of the price.

I use karrimor running leggings as they have a drawstring to keep on place.... If they don't have a drawstring I won't buy them as they fall down.... Some of the Nike drifit also have drawstrings and are also good. ..

my running leggings make their way down if they are too small or if I put my phone in the pocket.

I like decathlon for decent quality

Which specifically have you already tried hat don’t work for you, @Spiderwitheoneeye ? That would help to know.

I second Sweaty Betty, and Gymshark also work well for me. My Girlfriend Collective ones tend to fall down a bit.

ChiliFiend · 26/10/2025 09:12

Sweaty Betty are magic - they just don't fall down. I have several pairs I've bought during sales - zero gravity, compression, bog standard soft ones - and they're all equally great.

TattooStan · 26/10/2025 09:13

For anyone who it's helpful to, I've also just bought some Olora anti-camel toe, wicking seamless thongs, and can now buy my leggings in nice bright colours, whereas I was previously restricted to black or navy!

Tried Shapermint, Next and Occfy. Occfy were recommended by a running/fitness friend. Thought Shapermint might cling enough to stop drooping but no. Scared to spend big in case I have the same problem.

Sweaty betty running leggings (zero gravity?) - front pocket plus a zipped key back pocket - cord to tighten around the waist. I still have the first pair of sweaty Betty’s I bought about 12 or 13 years ago. They last for ages.

Sweaty Betty. Ive got 5 pairs. They're the only leggings I'll ever wear. I put them through intense abuse and they never fall or roll down, are thick enough to hide cellulite and so on, and wash really well.
They're pricey (£88) but last for years.

I think that they still have some in the sale.

I’ve often wondered if I have a strange body shape for this (pear-shape)- it’s always been a problem with tights too, ending up with a saggy crotch 😆. I’ve discovered late in life to wear a pair of granny pants over the top to keep them from sliding…obv doing this with Lycra leggings wouldn’t be the best look!

I get this with some tights as well, but never with sport leggings.
I would just run in jogging bottoms if I were you and shorts in the summer.

fuzzycreature · 26/10/2025 10:38

i’ve had this issue with a few leggings but I find most with a higher waist and a drawstring are good. Never had any issues with Swetty Betty - I only buy them second hand on Vinted as they’re £££.

HoppingPavlova · 26/10/2025 10:40

My kids that run use Skins. They are leggings/compression leggings good for your muscles supposedly. They wear a pair of short running shorts over the top. From the washing I note they come in above knee and full leg lengths😁.

granhands1 · 26/10/2025 13:02

Sweaty Betty zero gravity are the best I have found

Another big fan of Sweaty Betty. Get them in sale, they look great, never roll down no matter what exercise you doing and last forever.

Any of the high waisted Lululemon ones - quite a few have drawstrings, but I don't find I need them. They're expensive but last forever even if you throw them in the tumble dryer, and you can often find them reduced on their 'we made too much' page.

DickDewey · 26/10/2025 13:14

Sweaty Betty power leggings. I have about 8 pairs and they are the best. They don’t budge and look like new despite constant washing and tumble drying.
