Heated brush recommendations

I'd like a heated brush. I have shoulder length hair that just needs to look a bit better with a heated brush rather than my rubbish attempts with my hairdryer.

I had a babylis big hair. I like it but my hair catches in it. I think the brush is too big. The GHD one (it's glide or rise I think it's called) looks good. It it's £££.

I had the Revlon One Step and hated it. I recently gave it in to my local charity shop - boxed with all the parts and instructions etc! I have LOTS of hair and it's past my shoulders, maybe this is why I didn't get on with it. I certainly don't need volume. I also found it very drying on my hair.

I have the GHD glide and I prefer it to the one-step but still don't love it.

I think the next thing I invest in will be a barrell thermal brush. I prefer to blast my hair dry with a haidryer so I don't need a brush that has hot air coming out of it. And the bristles on a thermal brush I think would suit my hair texture better than the GHD glide.

It's a pity we can't try all these gadgets for a while before committing to buying them!

Sorry to hijack your thread - I am also looking for one but with batteries or USB-rechargeble for when out and about, does such a thing even exist??

Never heard of it and to be honest, if one existed it would probably be rubbish.

Hair styling brushes are pretty heavy on electricity as they're heating, blowing air, and sometimes rotating too. If you've got a lot of thick hair, it could take up to half an hour to style it. I don't think a battery powered styler could manage this.

The only cordless hair styling tools I can think of are those 'Braun Independent' stylers, but they're more like mini curling tongs than styling brushes. And they're pretty crap.

Agree with the hot air round brushes, my hair doesn’t like being blown from the inside out, it’s better with a hair dryer held and pointing down the hair shaft to smooth the cuticles. I then go over with the Revamp hot brush (variable temperature settings and retractable bristles) which is very similar to the MD London one but a third of the price. You can watch Michael Douglas (Davina McCalls hairdresser and fiance) on Instagram doing lots of demonstrations with it.

Definitely this is the best way to get a style that lasts, but the problem is it's hard for one person to hold the hairdryer at the correct angle and hold the brush in their hair too. So a styling brush is the best compromise unless you have your own private hairdresser!

A good tip I learnt when using my hairdryer was to bend my head over thus making it easier to get the hairdryer above the brush
