My skin is scabby & spotty

Help please! I know I shouldn’t pick spots but my face is all marked and horrible. What shall I use on it? I’ve got a spot under my skin on my chin and one on each cheek that I’ve picked. Will make myself a nice green smoothie to help from inside. What can I apply on the outside?

Is it acne?

I’d get some spot patches, they are good for healing and drawing out pus, and you can’t pick and make worse.

Magnesium sulphate for under skin spots that need drawing out.

When you have skin problems it's tempting to think that the answer is some sort of magic product or products. You try one thing after another and your skin biome can't cope with the constant deluge of ever-changing products, so you inadvertently make things worse.

My advice would be to stop putting gunk on your face. All of it. Buy a simple, fragrance-free facial cleanser that isn't anti-bacterial and use that, but nothing else. Drink plenty of water so that you're never dehydrated and wait (at least a month) for your skin biome to sorry itself out. Most skin problems will resolve or improve significantly. Anything that doesn't can be taken to a doctor.

Depends on what type of spot it is. I suffered from age of 30 for cystic acne, until reached menopause, having had clear skin all through my teens.
Those things are really hard to treat and hang around for months, basically didn't heal until I managed to pull the 'core' out, which not supposed to do because it leaves scars. Sorry for being so gross! Mine never were full of puss or anything, just lumps under the skin and so glad gone now.

Can use acid treatment to help with the old scars, gave a google as to which type you think may work and some facial acid treatments are good for stopping them form in the first place. Good luck!

Clearasil spot treatment is good and removes redness and marks.

Think I am run down. Too much alcohol & not enough sleep!

You’re right. I don’t tend to put gunk on my face - I wash with Ceravie and a tiny amount of moisturiser from that range - but you’re right, nothing extra will help probably. I wondered if there was some magical food thing I could slap on. Good point about water. I had a couple of nights out with too much booze. Ive been to the dr in the past & was given antibiotics for cystic acne but it had cleared up. It was the late nights & alcohol which triggered it but now need to work out how to make the sores go away.

Me too! I had cystic acne in my 40s and it went away with menopause. Think I’ve had a flare up after a couple of late nights. I want to make it better. That sounds painful but like the sort of thing I’d do! Must. Not. Pick.
