Are my Ugg boots fake?

Hi all.. I bought these boots from a Vinted seller and got them for a decent price.
i’m just wondering if they might be fakes as the QR code takes you to Ugg Australia but then says ‘Safari can’t open the page because the server cannot be found’.
Apart from that, they look pretty good, I think the stitching and lining looks sound, but just wondering if anyone could give me their opinion?
thanks!

The picture hasn’t loaded yet OP but I would be very weary about buying uggs on Vinted. I buy a lot of shoes from Vinted but I looked for Uggs a few weeks ago and it was flooded with fakes. Fine if they’re upfront and honest that they’re not legit, but a lot of the prices were very high for fakes.

Fallenangel2014 · 17/10/2025 13:53

Thanks..can you see the pictures now? They have loaded for me.
yes I did hesitate as I know Vinted is a hot bed of fakes, but I went for it in the end.
They are comfy so I will wear them, I just wondered about the QR code not working.

I really have no idea whether they are fakes or not but they do look good quality so possibly legit. It's a few years since I've bought UGGs but I remember the fluffy lining on them feeling thick and softer than that of UGG look alikes.

I wonder if they are a few seasons old and the link from that QR code has since changed. Just a guess though.

Thanks..yes I guess that could be the reason the QR code doesn’t work.
I’ve had a look online and tried to compare pictures with genuine boots, and they do seem to be the real thing. I know you take a risk buying anything like this on Vinted!

she sent me a free GAP teddy bear coat with the boots too!

Ugg Australia is an original Australian company. The term Ugg is the same as Wellingtons in the UK, it is a generic term for the type of sheepskin boot. There was a big thing a few years ago with the America Ugg company who own the trademark there suing the Australian companies and some of them had to change their names to sell in the US.

I's say that some of the Australian companies are higher quality than the American Ugg.

No yellow tag. Only the holographic label and this one

They look genuine just a few season's old, my older pairs and dd's have the holographic logo inside as you've pictured.

Thanks all

I was told if they have the circle/sun on the sole then they are real but you can never tell these days

Is there a yellow tag in the left boot?

This doesn’t apply as this is for the Australian company rather than the American owned (by Deckers) Ugg company that is actually trademarked as Ugg Australia (and made in China in most cases).

HundredMilesAnHour · 17/10/2025 14:41

Must admit that I’m not convinced those are genuine Uggs @Fallenangel2014 The Ugg font on the sole doesn’t look quite right.

The problem with buying on Vinted is that some sellers don’t even realise that they’re selling fakes and are convinced they themselves bought (or were gifted) the genuine article. Personally, if it doesn’t come with the actual receipt and the brand matters to me, I wouldn’t risk buying from Vinted. Better to buy direct from the actual brand (wait for a sale) as then you know it’s genuine (unless you got caught by one of the dodgy websites pretending to be genuine!)

CeffylCoch · 17/10/2025 16:04

Mine have the same tags as yours and are genuine

Haffiana · 17/10/2025 16:46

Yeah, they look real to me - I have pairs with that hologram and label. Most fakes will have a too soft and smooth plushy shearling inner - usually man-made (if you burn a bit it will melt rather than sizzle) or occasionally rabbit fur (too silky).

The 'genuine' made in Australia Uggs thing is a boring red herring of interest only to the marketing departments of the many, many Australian small shearling boot-makers. The Uggs that most people mean have been made by Deckers for decades now. As it happens I still have a pair of the last Deckers Uggs that were actually made in Australia, and I purchased them in 2008!

The one to avoid on Vinted is Birkenstocks. I would say that 90% of all the Boston and Arizonas (and a few other models) on Vinted are fake. If you want real ones and are not sure how to tell from the photos, then avoid the 'new with tags' ones, particularly those with soft footbeds. Just about every single one with both those features that sell for between £50 - £70 are fakes.

Fallenangel2014 · 17/10/2025 17:58

So the prevailing view seems to be they are real, which I’m pleased about.
They are very comfy and seem well made so they’ll get lots of wear this autumn/winter.

If you're happy with the price then it doesn't really matter 🤷‍♀️

NewHat · 17/10/2025 18:15

I’ve got Ugg Australia boots in that colour and the label on the back is cream with brown writing but everything else looks identical.
