Would any kind soul tell me how to use my Eve Lom cleanser? I've thrown away the leaflet

Please please? I get that there's the muslin, but what else? There were pictures of face rubbing on the leaflet which I've stupidly thrown out...

massage upwards gently on neck and then in little circles (if I remember rightly) on face. need to get hot water on muslin after to gently rinse it off.. when all done think you can do final rinse off with cold water.

Will that do it Poppy? The leaflet in my recollection was hugely long, with many pictures!! I remember thinking I would have to meditate with lots of "ummmmmmmmmm" while cleansing.

I didn't mean to chuck it..

that is basically it as I remember but you are meant to spent some minutes doing it. To be honest if you're doing it to take off make up it will take a minute or two and its quite pleasnt to take a minute or two to do it.

That said I've now switched to use the boots imitation version as cheaper

Thanks Poppy I've tried it like that. Am sure am missing all sorts of lymphatic drainage type action, but your way is quicker, so a winner with me!!

The leaflet shows you how to do the proper massage for all the lymphatic drainage benefits. You know, the routine you do religiously for three days and then abandon forever.

I massage it onto my face, then soak the muslin in very warm water, squeeze it out, hold it over my face for a few seconds, then rub it over my skin in circular movements (to exfoliate). Then I rinse the muslin in hot water again, and put it on my face again, three more times (I like to be REALLY clean). Then, if it's summer and I can be arsed, do it in cold water.

Have you tried Shu Umeura cleansing oil, by the way? It's lovely.

Pillow · 04/06/2008 23:03

No - am interested to give it a go tho, have been hearing good stuff about cleansing oils. And lots of ads for some cleansing oil stuff - Dfd or Dld or something.

Lol at the giving it up after three days - maybe i just saved myself the hassle throwing the leaflet out by mistake!!

I think you have (and do you really believe in lymphatic drainage anyway? I don't think I do).

I've seen those ads too, but went for Shu Umuera because I've heard it recommended so often. It takes off eye make-up and everything, and my skin looks very soft and clear after using it. It comes in five varieties, though (dry, combination, sensitive, normal, and anti-oxidant - I'm not sure I believe something you wash off instantly can be anti-ageing, but that is the one I use and I love it).

it's not cheap, but it is cheaper than Eve Lom!

Pillow · 04/06/2008 23:24

Oh I am going to buy it now!! Am a big sucker for a personal recommendation. I think I might try the combination one. And OH! i have some Harvey Nicks vouchers from Christmas! £45. Was going to get DH something, but maybe what he really wants is a younger cleansey skinned me?

The normal bottle is twenty five quid, but the jumbo bottle is forty-odd. Told you it wasn't cheap! But since you have Harvey Nicks vouchers...

Have you tried the Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser, by the way? Much loved by those who think Eve Lom is way over the odds. It's about twelve quid, I think, and really nice - as is the toner.

Pillow · 04/06/2008 23:29

I just used the Liz Earle stuff while staying at my Mums (by which I mean I used my Mum's Liz Earle stuff..) I thought it was nice but totally different to the Eve Lom. Very rich and creamy. And I have quite combo skin.

Hmmm... I have dry, mature skin (yes, I'm an old hag). Maybe you should hesitate to take my recommendation on anything (let alone a cleansing oil) since you are clearly a peachy-skinned young thing with totally different skincare requirements

Pillow · 04/06/2008 23:36

Oh no, I am all dry and mature too. Just with an oil slick middle. An old hag with teenage T-zone.

What a lovely image! - it has instantly cleared my mental picture of you as the Angelina Jolie of MN.

I was given a fifty quid SpaceNK voucher for Christmas, in theory for a spa treatment. I'm beginning to think I will never get time for the treatment (and none of them cost under sixty five) so may get some Eve Lom. We should compare notes in three months time and see who was got the most spots...

I'm a sucker for an overpriced cleanser, as you can see. Funnily enough, I have never spent anywhere near that much on a moisturiser.

Pillow · 05/06/2008 00:00

He he, no! And prob the only time in my life I will ever be confused with AJ!! But thank you!
