Tinted moisturiser

I’m attending a black tie event next weekend and have found an outfit. However, my arms and shoulders will be exposed and I’m relatively fair skinned. Can anyone recommend something I could use (eg a tinted moisturiser) to take the edge off the paleness? I’m not looking for a very tanned look, just not ghostly white. Something fairly subtle would be ideal.

You could use a gradual tan product for a few days before. Dove does one, but i'm sure there are others.

I did wonder about that, but I haven’t used one since many years ago when they were streaky and awful. i will have a look though, thanks!

I use this. It’s a wash off one so just put it on, on the day, just in the areas you want. You can see where you put it when you put it on, so fewer streaks. It’s cheap too. I use the lighter one with shimmer (you get matte and shimmer in different depths of tan). I’ve used it for years as I’ve never found a better one.

That one is really subtle. I've not tried other ones because I don't mind looking like a pot of marmalade instead of a block of Stilton.

Just be careful of the smell. Don’t know if it’s different skin that reacts. It’s pretty awful when it happens.

I second @Purplecatshopaholic . I use the Rimmel on my legs - I am a freckly redhead.
But use gloves to apply it. It does wash off but may taint your palms, or under your nails.

@Purplecatshopaholic @UpMyself Thanks for the recommendations, I’ll take a
look at the Rimmel one.

@spotddog I didn’t think about the smell. I will experiment before the day to check!

The wash off ones are good! You can even mix them with your normal moisturiser for an even more subtle look. I would still apply with rubber gloves on and a tan mit but it will go on nice and even.

Use a foundation brush to apply the fake tan on your hands, no brown knuckles!
