Right im going holiday clothes shopping in an hour, so im going to need everyones help.
First hol with DD who will be just gone 1. Still carrying pregnancy weight (actually that should read too much chocolate eating weight. Must stop blaming the baby!!) Ive managed to lose a stone hoping to lose another 7pounds in the next 3 weeks.
PROBLEM. I really should have lost more as all i can get into is a denim skirt a black tshirt a white tshirt and 2 cute shrugs (one cream one grey with gold flecks) Ive got a floaty brown river island skirt that i love but its a sz 14 and i can do it up but it doesnt look great. I have also a hold in the flab swimsuit (love it!!) and a throwover/dress to wear by the pool. so i need two outfits or mix and match to wear on an evening and another daytime outfit and it WILL have to do! Im a size 18-20 everything else in my wardrobe is a 16. boo!!
NEXT PROBLEM. I have £60 i can perhaps stretch to £80.

Please save me from being frump mum mumsnetters!

the denim skirt
the 2 tshirts
the shrugs
the pool coverup
the swimsuit

I would recommend trying to get:

1 x trous
1 x skirt
1 x dresses
2 x floaty tops

Primark?

maidamess · 04/06/2008 15:17

Get a kaftan thing, a pair of wide leg trousers, an a line skirt and a couple of fitted ish teeshirts.

And a belt, and some wedges. get thee to Primark and you can easily get all this for £60-£80.

Make sure it all matches to a point, but not so you are wearing solid colour head to toe.

Get some posho earrings to jazz up kaftan and wide legged trousers.

mumbear · 04/06/2008 15:19

Thank you!! Think it will have to be primark given the budget cant get into their sz 18 bottoms tho. floaty tops def a good idea tho!

Asda have bigger sizes, and are dead cheap. Is there one near you?

mumbear · 04/06/2008 15:24

Sains do size 18-20 now and are cheap ish.

Pair of trousers - linen - to go with the tshirts.

floaty maxi dress to go with a shrug.

wedges

Long floaty skirt that matches with 2 of the tshirts.

maidamess · 04/06/2008 22:38

No I havent been here ALL this time.

I managed to rustle up tea, do some course work, watch The Apprentice then spotted your purchases.

mumbear · 04/06/2008 22:47

Ah a more productive evening than me then

Sainsbos trousers come up tiny (skirts and tops are big, for whatever bizarre reason), really badly cut across the hips - I always had to go up a size with them! Cheap for relatively good quality tho...

Tesco F&F aren't bad and they have a clearance sale on at the mo - got a pair of wide legged trousers for £3.50 today!

piratecat · 05/06/2008 18:13

lol @ the hairbrush.

I am size14-16, and goign away to see my mum in spain, and have been out twice to the shop.

Yesterday I bought zilch.

today i have come home with two items for bottom half that just are not great, and they wil be going back.

mumbear · 05/06/2008 20:21

Piratecat I have a WHOLE summer wardrobe in 14-16. You should just come and pick it up! I thought I would have a quick look around when I finished work today and I returned home with a roll of foil and a roll of clingfilm. Maybe I can create something
