Investing in a wet to dry styler

Amazon currently has prime big deals on both the Dyson Airstrait and Shark Flex Fusion with about £150 off each so thinking of treating myself. I have quite thick and really frizzy hair and the only way it looks good is if I blow dry it properly then straighten which I can just never be bothered with as will take me around 45 minutes. I'm leaning towards the Airstrait but finding conflicting reviews online. Does anyone have one and is it worth the investment?

I do, got it second hand. I also have very thick and frizzy hair. I really like some things about the airstrait - it's very fast, straightens well, makes my hair look shiny, not too loud, not too heavy.

Bad things - I can't get even the slightest bend at the ends. I tried doing it like straighteners, with a little flick/twist, but it just got the cord twisted up and never changed my hair. So the ends of my hair just hang there like a thick curtain with blunt ends. It would be different if it weren't so thick I think, but it is. So I am still looking for some other tool to curl the ends afterwards, just to avoid that slightly witchy looking style at the ends. But otherwise, it's great in how it dries and straightens so quickly. I just wish the ends looked better. Other bad thing is how huge the plug is, but that's a safety thing for a wet-to-dry styler I think.

I was wondering about the new AirWrap. I tried the original years ago and sold it as I couldn't get used to it, but I am not sure I really tried enough or watched videos or anything. The new one looks good but so expensive and no second hand ones yet of course. It also has the huge plug! But I wonder if it would do what I want in terms of smoothing and straightening, but also have some curls in the end. (My hair is naturally curly/frizzy, but horrible on second day or even later the same day after washing, so I have to straighten/smooth it, but then it tends not to hold curls at all when I try to put them back in at the ends!).

I bought the Dyson Airstrait direct from Dyson so I could return it if not happy. As TakeMe says the plug is huge which may be an issue depending on your socket location. It is also a one trick pony, it just dries hair straight, you cannot flick the ends of anything else. TLDR, I love it.

My hair is I suppose beachy waves naturally with straight bits so if left natural it looks like I have missed a couple of sections for making my hair wavy. I tend to straight dry it then curl the bottoms with another tool.

I dry my hair first with a hairdryer to take most of the wet out or let it dry naturally until slightly wetter than damp. Then section my hair and use the Air Strait. There are a lot of videos online on how to use it and I watched about 10 to see how everyone was drying their roots. I have mastered a technique using a tail comb so I don't have to use my hand every time to collect the section of hair to dry that fits into the plates of the Air Stait. I take down a whole section at the side of my head, then use the comb to pick up a smaller section of hair up to dry, I hope that makes sense. You definitely need the glove they provide because 140 degrees is bloody hot on your hand.

@TakeMeToAnIgloo to get your hair to keep a curl at the bottom what products are you using? My hair needs texturising spray and a heat style spray to get it to take a curl and still be there the next day.

I’ve had the Dyson and the Shark and much preferred the Shark personally, I found it worked better and my hair felt nicer after, but just my personal opinion. I also find Dyson customer service not great when theres issues.
