Blue light LED masks for acne

Just wondering if anyone has a blue light mask for acne and if it helped?

DS 18 has suffered horrendous acne for years and has tried everything apart from accutane which he point blank refuses because of the side effects.

He is really down about it and I wondered if a mask could help, but they are very expensive if its just a marketing thing.

Just wanted to say when DH and I started dating he was a similar age to your son and had awful acne. He took a course of roaccutane and it was life changing for him. The side effects are scary but for him it was a risk worth taking and he’s never regretted it.

DH says that the risk of not trying it and living with severe acne for years and potentially forever would have been far greater to his mental health and would have had far reaching effects on his adult life.

Thank you, I am worried about the impact on his self confidence as I can see him getting depressed but equally I can't force him to take it.

That's for a different board though - thanks for your reply =)

Might be worth getting him to have a chat with your GP to discuss his concerns. DH didn’t have to take it for too long and the worst side effect he had was dry lips and he had to wear sunscreen. Winter is the best time to try it because it makes the skin more sensitive to sun damage

I’ve had acne for years and I’ve found the blue light mask really helpful. I’ve been using it for a decade or so. The blue light kills the bacteria. Mine cost £100 so it doesn’t have to be massively expensive.

Which one did you use please?
