Make up help after upper bleph

UpperBleph · 03/10/2025 08:11

I had an upper bleph 3 and a bit weeks ago and I’m very happy with it.

I can finally wear eyeshadow and mascara etc but have no clue what to buy. I’m 50 and like Matt colours not glittery.

Please can anyone suggest a palette and mascara please? I used to wear black. Happy to splurge a bit for decent stuff. Thank you.

They look fantastic!

Thank you very much, I’m loving playing with eye make up Grin

@UpperBleph
Thank you.
Were you squeamish about them holding your eyelids when you could see what they were doing?

evilharpy · 07/10/2025 13:25

That is the best £540 ever spent, what a transformation.

AzureCats · 07/10/2025 13:49

£540?!?!?! I thought they were in the region of £10,000 for some reason. I can't even get one benign scalp cyst removed for that in the UK 😂
They did a fantastic job, your eyes look amazing. Really opened up and let's your naturally beautiful eyes shine.
I've been thinking about it for ages. I have really unsymmetrical hooded eyes and it makes doing fancy eyeshadow hard. 🤔 Terrified of the operation going wrong for me though. Would be just my luck.

UpperBleph · 07/10/2025 15:52

Guys thank you so much for all the lovely comments, you’ve honestly made me feel so nice about myself Flowers

Does anyone know if there are different operations - some seem to be minimal bruising and able to go out straight after, others (looking on fb) are purple bruising very obvious, looks painful - I'll try contacting the dutch ones

Daisymay8 · 15/10/2025 07:45

Do you have to make two visits to Faceland in the Netherlands, or can you speak on Zoom and only go once for the op?

ThatsNotMyNameAlan · 15/10/2025 22:20

I’m very interested in Amsterdam!

oldsainsburysbag · 16/10/2025 00:58

Evidently the Faceland in Amsterdam has 8000 on the waiting list as a result of some TikTok thing. But the Düsseldorf branch has availability in November. (That Facebook thread mentioned above is a mine of information!)

oldsainsburysbag · 16/10/2025 01:00

@Daisymay8 it seems you have an initial online consultation and then you only go once for the procedure. And pay on the day.

ozarina · 16/10/2025 01:25

UpperBleph · 04/10/2025 08:48

I went to John Lewis as advised and was accosted by a Charlotte tilbury consultant. I bought a palette and really like it, this is the purple pinky brown! Thanks for recommendations

Great job!

ozarina · 16/10/2025 01:37

I did google this place and there seem to be some very bad reviews.

Azulejo9 · 16/10/2025 01:51

Aw you are most definitely due a make over. You claim the cost of the makeover against products after. It’s on my to do list after my bleph. Don’t go to all that trouble of opening your beautiful brown eyes up and then not accenuate them with a product they use..
win win

DiaryofaProvincialLady · 16/10/2025 03:14

Great pic but are we sure this isn't just a clever advert disguised as a makeup post? I watch a lady on YT who recently had an UB in the UK, she was in hospital for days, general anaesthetic, massive bruising and swelling and weeks and weeks of recovery so the OP's breezy pain free day trip does not ring true

DiaryofaProvincialLady · 16/10/2025 03:45

Just read a description of Faceland UB from Facebook "I know the clinic and its done by dermatologists not surgeons there. They only remove skin - thats why it's cheap"

Is that why its only £500+ OP. because they are not surgeons and only remove skin?

GarlicPound · 16/10/2025 03:45

@DiaryofaProvincialLady, my brother's experience was more like OP's. Local anaesthetic, home same day, swollen for about a week (he wore sunglasses). He said it was a bit sore for a few days, not painful. I saw him three weeks later. A very fine scar was visible but only because I knew it was there. You really can't see any sign of it now, except that his eyes look a bit more awake.

His was done in London, I'm afraid I don't know where.

Well, they've done a good job of it, haven't they?

Thanks 😃Also I realise YT lady had lower as well, but she describes the upper in detail and nothing like OP experience.

Well they won't if the cause of a person's sagging is fat/muscle issues rather than just simply excess skin?

DiaryofaProvincialLady · 16/10/2025 04:02

The Faceland Facebook post also described smelling "burning flesh" during the procedure! What part of a surgical incision process would cause a burning flesh smell? I'm not sure what they are offering for £500 is a surgical method....

Cauterising the wound

They do take fat if needed, it’s not always needed.

it literally is as described- 15 min surgery, leave for hotel, home the same or next day. Bruising differs between patients.

lower bleph is far more involved

My bruising didn’t kick in for a day or two, horrific looking but not painful at all

depends on the patient and also the aftercare. Arnica 2 weeks before plus after apparently really helps

Thanks, are you talking about Faceland? If so it is true they are not surgeons, only Dermatologists?

Just trying to understand the £500 price when UK is circa £3-6k and other EU Poland/Turkey are still in the £2k plus territory

Hundreds of customers throughout the Netherlands, Switzerland and Germany come for treatment every week. We currently work with 34 doctors, 4 surgeons and a large team supporting the medical team.

That was easy 😄 Most of their offerings are injectables, they don't need doctors for that.
