Recommendations pls for DD15 spots?

Morning. Would welcome any recommendations for DD skin if possible please?
I suggested a chat with her GP which she is onboard with, however realised we haven’t actually actively tried anything much ourselves.
Ive always encouraged the avoidance of harsh products so we’ve moved from Simple face wash and cream to Cetaphil the last 12 months.
She jas spots which sometimes are fluid filled but they are scarring now I think.
DD IS also autistic and I’ve noticed sometimes is now picking them.
Shes also fixated on skin and make up so will literally avoid school and going out without make up which doesn’t help.
I need to pop to a big Boots later so can pick up something to try but have no idea where to start tbh
Last time I looked there were soooooo many.
Many thanks in advance ….. good old Mumsnet is great for tips re this sort of thing so please share your knowledge x

Niacinamide after cleansing in the morning and before moisturising (I use the ordinary) and azelaic acid 2/3 times a week after nightly cleansing and before moisturiser. I think the highest % you can get over the counter is 15%

I'd recommend that she washes her face with a gentle foaming cleanser. This Cerave one is good for blemishes as it contains salicylic acid and niacinamide: https://amzn.eu/d/aIcU26c

I totally agree with a PP about azelaic acid a few times a week. Every night will be too much so perhaps alternate something like an azelaic acid serum: https://amzn.eu/d/3gOlbE6 with a zinc one: https://amzn.eu/d/45VGaDm

She should still use a moisturiser as light layers of hydration can actively help acne....just make sure that what she's using isn't too heavy. This one is often recommended for acne sufferers as it's not got any pore clogging ingredients and is lightweight: https://amzn.eu/d/6SFVJmH

I’d get some spot patches for overnight and wearing round the house. Helps with picking but also healing.

Avoid products likes Clearasil as they are an astringent, and strip the skin of oils. In turn that makes the skin produce more oil, and then you're stuck in a vicious circle. Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish and Liz Earle Skin Repair Light are brilliant. I would also recommend Dalicin T Topical Solution, only on prescription from your GP, it worked wonders for my acne as a teenager. You'd never know that I suffered badly from it. Your daughter needs to stop touching/picking the spots, she will make her skin much worse and cause scaring.
