Collagen supplement.

HRT has not done anything for my thinning hair.

Tigi Bed Head thickening cream.

LIFE CHANGING

It was recommended on a thread on here, everyone who went out and bought it raved about it. It has made a huge difference. My 73 year old DM now uses it too. I wish I’d known about it sooner, I’ve had thin hair forever, this gives it so much oomph. It’s heat activated so you put it on after washing your hair, then blow dry it and it just works it’s magic!

A really good Vitamin D supplement has thickened up my hair nicely. I suppose that makes sense as my nails always grow better in summer.

Collagen supplement definitely. I'm on HRT did not help hair, skin, nails. Collagen powder already showing huge improvement. I also take vitamin D

I take vit d for my rheumatoid arthritis. Will definitely try that tigi bed head , thanks for the recommendation. What powder do you recommend as so many on the market . Are they much the same not wanting to waste money ?

I went to my GP regarding this and my iron count was just acceptable for NHS guidelines, but she said for thin hair it should probably be around 80 so I had some iron tablets for a while. Also my diet had been shit - I’m almost vegetarian so my protein was low. I’ve been on multivitamins and minerals for about 6 months now, and also biotin and I’ve seen an vast improvement. Good luck - it’s awful to experience this.

I'd suggest listening to the BBC podcast episode 'What's Up Docs' about hair loss - it explains the possible causes and treatments available for different types of hair loss. There's a follow up deeper dive in the next episode 'doctors' notes'.

BBC Radio 4 - What's Up Docs?, Why does our hair fall out?

Drs Chris and Xand van Tulleken get to the root of the issue of hair loss.
