I think it does to other people. I often notice this.

It opens the eyes and makes people look less scraggy, more polished.

It frames your eyes better I think and makes you look neater and more well groomed. It's the overall effect, like having clean shoes.

BlueDragonfly · 02/06/2008 10:07

if i didn't do my eyebrows, they would look like this!

nailpolish · 02/06/2008 10:07

just look at liz hurley

Enid · 02/06/2008 10:07

I really need mine done

I am supposed to be goig to a skin doctor tomorrow about weird mole but as it seems to have completely disappeared maybe I will still nick off and go and get eyebrows done instead

SSSandy2 · 02/06/2008 10:09

It can give you an odd look if they overdo it, so I suppose that makes a difference?

Mine are ok in natura really not too wild and overgrown. I just have to tidy up the odd stray hair so I've never had them done professional. If you have great hairy caterpillars linking up over your nose, a professional job might make a real difference

SSSandy2 · 02/06/2008 10:10

professionalLY meant to say

SSSandy2 · 02/06/2008 10:10

more worried about my upper lip though tbh

it frames your face properly and is like having a mini eye lift

it's easily the most important thing to my face, hence tweezers being my must have on a desert island

SSSandy2 · 02/06/2008 10:29

can't envisage Liz Hurley's eyebraws tbh. So you think it makes such a huge difference then, even if your eyebrows are reasonable anyway?

It makes your eyes look wider and fresher imo. It makes me look a bit younger when I do it.

I don't get a chance to dp mine regularly so it's always a more dramatic effect. From Noel Gallagher to Liz Hurley in under 10 mins.

SSSandy2 · 02/06/2008 10:34

do you know why I'm wary of it? I have had the odd (very odd) beauty treatment here and it was always crap. Like I got my leg scalded with a too hot wax and I still have the scar under my knee 7 years later. Had my arms waxed and they left a trail of hair around my wrist, very decorative (diff salon) etc etc. I tend to get these things done when I'm on holiday.

Mind you I have noticed a new salon opened round the corner. Seems to be Thai. Could try that but wouldn't like a botch job on my face, you know. Bad enough when the hair doesn't work out but what do you do if they mess up your eyebrows?!

I have never had my eyebrows done.

I don't have hairy ones though. I occasionally tweeze a stray hair [prim]

I am curious now.

But honestly, I am practically Mona Lisa-esque.

Heifer · 02/06/2008 10:38

can someone link to a picture of good eyebrows..

I am interested - I have seen some VERY bad eyebrows (too thin) and am wondering what the general opinion was on what was good and bad.

But am guessing that was your link to a bad set?
