Anti-ageing creams

Read this here

I suspect though that any cream you can just buy will not have enough in it to make much difference. I remember them saying on that TV programme recently that if the stuff was there in sufficient quantity it would have to be sold as a medicine under prescription. Shucks.

I'm sure I heard on a programme the other day that a cream just needs to have SPF in it to be considered anti-aging.

Yes they did say that too. But this is a scientific study by people unaffiliated to any manufacturers, who are saying that retinol will stretch fibroblasts in your skin and they will then produce new collagen which will make your skin look younger. They also say a couple of other treatments work.

My immediate thought was "which ones have retinol in then?" but then I remembered the medicine thing I said in the op. But perhaps if you use LOTS AND LOTS of the stuff it would make up for the fact that there's not enough retinol in it...?

Just re-read the article. These are the treatments: topical retinoic acid, carbon dioxide laser resurfacing and injections of cross-linked hyaluronic acid.

Is retinol the same as retinoic acid? I assumed it was.
