Hey, I’m 42, my daughter is just about to start school and it’s the first time since she was born I’m going to start getting a little time back for myself. I’m feeling like I’ve let myself go a little and so I want to start focusing on myself more - I want to invest in some quality make-up so I’m looking for your recommendations of holy grail products! Anything that will make me look more youthful and radiant!🙈

Any tips on self care etc also appreciated, what makes you feel good?

If you have the money I’d do into a big store (John Lewis etc) and go to Charlotte Tilbury, Lisa Aldridge etc counters and get the staff to pick out purists for you. Better than you buying clueless if you aren’t familiar with make up.

Facial massage is my number 1 tip for better looking skin. I use The Ordinary rosehip oil. The Abigail james videos on YouTube are great to follow along.

Thoroug cleansing at night is essential. i like the cetaphil cleanser, massage in and use a Garnier reusable cloth to take off.

In terms of make up, I really like garnier bb cream. could you go into Boots and get some advice? the no7 consultants are really helpful

The best thing you can do is try as much as possible, because one person's holy grail is another one's disaster.

Space NK is great for sampling, if you've got one near you, because they have decent size mirrors with good lighting, unlike most branches of Boots. (The London Long Acre one is an exception - that one is great for browsing.) You can also buy tester pots of stuff on eBay, if you like the sound of a product but don't want to commit without trying.

Good tip from PP above to ask at the cosmetics counters at John Lewis. They'll also hand out samples if you're lucky.
