Interesting

We are all different down there she says and it looks a lot nicer on some people that others

And it is a generation thing

She mostly does them on people under 40

no admittedly there is more societal expectation of other body hair and women .. but I think the pubic hair is a recent thing and that is what I find so very worrying

you can rail against the decades and societal conditioning .. but for a relatively new practice to be so quickly adopted by grown-up women is concerning and seems to stem from the porn industry

and the whole pre-pubescent girly thing is just disturbing

NappiesGalore · 31/05/2008 12:54

ive only bothered in places/times when ive been in the habit of spending much time in skimpy bikinis.
not lately then.

I like "they grows"

I'm going to use it in my everyday speech

NappiesGalore · 31/05/2008 12:55

you do anyway dont you sheiky? arent you in somerset or somewhere?

SheikYerbouti · 31/05/2008 12:56

Well, Bath - so posh Somersetshire

I'm not born and bred here though - I'm a Brummie.

NappiesGalore · 31/05/2008 12:59

sounds even better in brummie...

cyteen · 31/05/2008 13:01

I'm sure the rise of the thong has contributed to the popularity of the Brazilian/Hollywood - ever decreasing pantage requires ever stricter control of the pant moustache. Not that I bother with any of that, I like my pants comfy and my bush triangular.

clumsymum · 31/05/2008 13:05

Having undergone surgery and all sorts in my life, I can honestly say that I cannot imagine how excrutiatingly painful a hollywood must be.
I'm sure I wouldn't be brave enough

clumsymum · 31/05/2008 13:06

at least, not without a general anaestetic

BoyzntheShire · 31/05/2008 13:07

having had the brazillian, which left nought but a teeny little patch just above the outer labia... i can tell you it smarts. it really really smarts.

Heathcliffscathy · 31/05/2008 13:23

I may have this totally wrong, but i don't think getting rid of all body hair is a new practice....think muslim women have been doing it for centuries iirc...

Earlybird · 31/05/2008 13:36

I have bikini line waxed, but can't quite grasp the concept of regularly doing more 'down there' - other than as a 'sometime' thing. It might look neat for a week or so until regrowth starts, and then you've got to wait until there's enough to wax again. Seems to me you'd have 3 weeks (or more) of regrowth in order to have one week of 'neat'. Can that be worth it? Or appealing?

Well, it may not be new everywhere but it's certainly new in Europe/North America.

LargeGlassofRed · 31/05/2008 17:46

I shave all off just prefer it that way, only been doing it a couple of years before that,I used to just do bikini line.
