Hi All,

I've got the most terrible lines and bags under my eyes and am desperately seeking a way to improve these without turning to fillers/ surgery etc- is there anything I can do?I'm looking down a bit in the photo which enhances the bags a bit but they look awful (especially when I'm tired) I'm 50 help!!!!! Firstly, so jealous of your eye colour, it's stunning! Siren.

I work in this field and I'll be honest, eye products, even stupidly expensive ones only do so much. First step is sleep and hydration. How are you with those? There is some puffiness, ice and honestly cold tea bags.

For big results you are looking at fillers/ botox etc. If that's not for you then collagen rich diet, you don't have to buy the capsules if you have the right diet, microneedling and red light therapy along with water, water, water.

All that said, I would not have guessed you were 50 from your photo. Your hair colour suits you beautifully, I would kill for your eye colour and your skin is bright, vibrant and youthful.

I had this, it was almost like a swelling. I ditched foundation and changed to Ultrasun tinted face cream and they went. I think the foundation just wasn't agreeing with my skin after 40.

At 42, I feel like the skin on my face is ageing rapidly. What creams/potions/treatments have you tried that have really worked to make you look less wrinkled/tired/dead? I have had Botox before but it wears off so quickly.

Thank you so much for the complements they really cheered me up! Grin

I'm awful with dehydration actually and I've never thought that might be the problem- I'll try the eyepatches/teabags too that you so much for the suggestions - I really don't want to start injectables until there is nothing else to try!

@Firstsuggestions what a lovely response.

I've no real experience @greenfairy90 , but i do know that my face looks better when I hydrate properly and get some sleep. I also look less puffy when I don't eat crisps (i love them) or drink too much.
Lastly, try looking at some lymphatic drainage, or at the very least giving yourself a good old massage when you apply any face creams. Just getting everything flowing might help.

Lifeinthepit · 29/08/2025 08:17

I have the same problem and I think it's the thing that ages me the most (age 52). Interested to read what everyone has suggested. I have also been using the Dr Brandt No More Baggage, having fallen for their amazing videos on SM and I think it's helpful.

YumYa · 29/08/2025 08:30

I've heard good things about skinbunny eye stuff?

I agree with hydration. And lymphatic drainage. There's massage techniques on YouTube.

TheLeadbetterLife · 29/08/2025 09:55

I think sleep is the main thing. A good or bad night's sleep is the difference between five years off and five years on for me. Sleep, low stress, yoga, and a good diet with lots of healthy fats. Admittedly harder to achieve than a pot of cream, but more effective I think.

I've also stopped drinking wine cos it makes me feel like shite and buggers up my sleep.

MerylSqueak · 29/08/2025 09:59

I have similar but I think with mine it's my genes. I find cold cucumber slices surprisingly helpful. I also really like Q and A Caffeine eye serúm. I don't know if it's the best caffeine serum as it's the only one I've tried but I haven't tried another because I really like it! It's available Holland and Barrett and often on offer.

StarDolphins · 29/08/2025 10:05

I have this and the only thing that worked is absolutely loads of water and 7.5-8hours sleep.

I also look much better since I’ve been putting some collagen powder in my coffee! I got it for a bad shoulder really but It’s made my face look so much better!

greenfairy90 · 29/08/2025 10:15

Thanks so much all- I love my sleep and try to be as healthy as I can- Ive actually lost quite a bit of weight over the last year through diet and exercise and am wondering if that has added to the wrinkles- I'm like a prune!!

Collagen sounds interesting I might give that a go Grin
