Cruelty free night cream?

I'm late 50s with dry skin which needs deep moisture, and a bit of plumping - OK might be asking too much there! But basically I'm after a rich night cream that hasn't been tested on animals. Problem is a lot of companies claim to not test on animals, but when you dig a bit deeper thats not neccesarily the truth. I nearly ordered Neutrogena, and then Olay, before realising neither are strictly cruelty free. Can anyone recommend a bedtime cream for an old bird with thristy skin like me?

Following as I am after the same, I’ve just ordered a Simple one to keep me going and I do use organic coconut oil which my skin seems to really like!

Sukin - properly cruelty free and amazing! They do a rose hip night cream which sounds like it is what you are looking for.

Boots No.7

Not sure that Boots No 7 is cruelty free

Neil's Yard is CF I like their night creams and Skin Tropic.

I use the Superdrug one. It’s basic but seems to do the trick.

CornishTiger · 24/08/2025 18:36

Came on to recommend Sukin Rosehip too.

also love tropics night cream

Bonjamin · 24/08/2025 18:42

M&S ultimate Sleep cream is really, really good.

MissyB1 · 24/08/2025 18:43

Ooh I’d forgotten about Sukin! I remember trying one of their creams years ago, yes that probably fits the bill! Neil’s yard I always find slightly disappointing for the price.

I’m going to M&S tomorrow so will look at what they’ve got, hopefully they will have testers.

Another vote for Facetheory. Also Upcircle.

Another vote for Facetheory. Also Upcircle.

Just been looking at upcircle on Holland & Barrett site, it sounds lovely. Will pop in tomorrow, they sell Sukin too so might be able to compare.

Tropic ..

LittleG69 · 25/08/2025 10:36

I use the Facetheoy one. They often have deals on

frugalkitty · 25/08/2025 22:25

Another vote for Sukin, but also the Dr Organic ranges in Holland and Barrett are worth looking at. I've recently discovered the skin calming (prebiotic?) cream and it's one of the nicest I've ever used. Rich but not greasy, fine under make up, can use it day and night. Otherwise, Liz Earle do a lovely night cream in a blue jar if you want to spend a bit more.

ConnieClue · 25/08/2025 22:35

The Body Shop oils of life sleeping cream. Absolutely lovely - I always go back to them. Been buying for years.

The facial oil is very nice too.

ChelseaDetective · 26/08/2025 04:31

Pai Bonne Nuit Night Renewal.

MissyB1 · 26/08/2025 07:28

So I ended up in Holland & Barrett, got the Sukin Rosehip one, it does feel lovely on. I looked at the upcircle one but it had a strong unpleasant smell. I was very tempted by quite a few things in the Dr Organic range, I could easily have spent a fortune! It was the first time I’ve been in H&B for years, massive queue for the till, it’s clearly doing well.
