Manicure help!

I have a pre-holiday gel mani/pedi appointment tomorrow and disaster has struck!

I’ve just sliced into my thumb. It’s not bad, but it’s close to the nail and not going to miraculously heal overnight, so that nail will be out of bounds to avoid infection.

I can’t cancel the appointment this close and not lose my money, and I really want some nail art to match my holiday destination.

I’m thinking of covering the injured thumb with a plaster, getting 9 nails done and having a plain colour on my uninjured thumb that matches one I have at home (I can do my own single colour gels). Then I just do other thumb myself once healed.

Crazy?

Is just get the nails you want minus one nail and keep a plaster on the damaged one.

Not crazy at all. That’s what I would do! Have a fab holiday!

Thank you, both.

I will go with plaster, followed by DIY nail!

Just didn’t want to sound ridiculous at the salon.

I just wanted a fairly basic base colour anyway. The art on my middle nails is the bit I care about!
