for everything - as in casual, going out etc. (not to get all in one go but trying to make subtle changes! lol) also shoes mine have gone a bit down hill at the mo - I have 2 pairs of old boots in black, really old pair of flat sandles, some black going out shoes (are dressy so only for going out) er 2 pairs of clogs and 2 pairs of sketchers trainers which are as well really old! i'm 5'2 as well so a real shortie.

help!!! oh and should lip gloss be clear or coloured?

tia.

I am pretty much the same - well tops can be a 14 dep on the style. but yes a 14 (or large 12) for bottoms.

(am going for the cheaper end of the market - althou is it really worth getting one expensive but very well fitting top (i'd wear that i'd wear to death) or lots of cheaper clotehs that don't fit as well)

(am trying to go for the sassy look.)

H&M, primark, new look are usual ones for me (or tescos/asda)

well

H&M is good for basics and sometimes something a little 'ddfferent'

Oasis is fab, nicely cut and flattering fits
I wore Oasis stuff the whole way through Uni and could've worn them all to death

it has been a while since I was able to shop in there though so can't tell you if the quality has changed

you're just in time for the summer sales too so I would go in anyway and see what you think of their stuff and that way you can decide what to look out for

French Connection - buy a pair of decent black trousers and they will last forever

Warehouse, nice for tops and good sizes too

New look is FAB for shoes of all kinds
Dot P, Oasis, River Island and Top Shop all do nice shoes too

do you have a sainsburys near to you? they have nice clothes too along the same prices as Tesco/Asda

try having a look on Oli.co.uk too - they have some nice stuff to get ideas from as well

davidtennantsmistress · 29/05/2008 21:25

thanks for the tips - any ideas on if wedges are actually comfortable?

I'm incapable of walking in anything higher than a flip flop since pg with dd1 but I can manage a wedge!

I don't do the whole expensive lip gloss either as I keep loosing them or dd1 steals them

vaseline for a hint of shine or nivea tinted lip balms for a hint of colour - sorry am no use in the beauty dept

davidtennantsmistress · 29/05/2008 21:43

thanks for your inpput coddy - is it worth the extra? (I usually stick with the 2.99 ones avon is a fave of mine)

wedges intergue me but are they praticle with a 2.4 year old to chase after? infact can one be a sassy and trendy mummy with a 2.4 yo to chase after?

am sure cod posted a link to some wedges for first timers the other day and they were nice

if I went to the Mac counter I would spend a FORTUNE on things I don't know how to use just to have them so I don't even go there

davidtennantsmistress · 29/05/2008 21:50

ooh they have counters where? (is that the whole debanhams/alders places with the fancy stand things) - the shop I rarely go into unless to buy a good bra!

Recently had my shape analysis done by Colour Me Beautiful lady and I am an hourglass.

Her top tip was to buy a couple of those tops that are somewhere in between a shrug and a cardigan that tie under your boobs. Means you accentuate your narrowest part and enables one to wear fairly low cut tops without looking indecent. I got mine from Phase Eight and have to say I love them. I know its more expensive than some shops but I am gradually in my old age coming to the conclusion that it is worth paying a bit more because things last better and sit better. Obviously depends what age you are, I think up to a certain age its a lot easier to get away with things, particularly if you are an evenly spaced size 14.

I'm also a practical person when it comes to shoes so for summer she recommended wedge heel sandals. I have bought a gorgeous pair of wedge espadrilles, which I'm hoping I will be able to break in before we go on hols.

fishie · 29/05/2008 22:26

gap have a few of those cardies in at the momemnt.

i'm not entirely convinced they will be nice though, best for the smaller bosomed to emphasise a waist.

davidtennantsmistress · 30/05/2008 07:25

ah no my ample norkage is mahoosive (e) wanting to make them seem smaller! lol.

i'm 26 btw so still able to get away with some stuff.

well I do have reasonable bosoms and the wraps still seem to work ok. Rookie and her really quite large cleavage flounce off to work....

chocchild · 30/05/2008 08:54

Both clear and coloured lipgloss look GRRREAT with an hourglass figure
