Affordable tops for work - help!

I need a couple of new tops for work. I’m in the office once a week, and I already have a pail of grey wool trousers from Jigsaw and a pair of navy barrel leg trousers from Uniqlo. I’m totally broke, can’t spend more than £20 ish on each top, and light colours suit me best - cream / beige / light marl grey etc. I usually like Uniqlo and &Other Stories, Arket, etc. please help mumsnet fashionistas! Btw I do shop on Vinted but for work I need these asap and would like them to be brand new.

I'm a fan of hm. Cheap, they generally bring the same ranges out each year so once you've found a style you suit, its easy to just purchase the same, but different!

I have a couple, I wear a long sleeved t-shirt underneath. I have short arms and find full length jumper sleeves too long. The underneath t-shirt sleeve can be pushed back easily, past my elbow, to wash up, wooly jumper sleeves are less obliging.

Thank you for raising this! I always feel that if I need a jumper on, then I need long sleeves, but if it’s warm enough for short sleeves the. I’ll be too warm in a jumper!

Some jobs in healthcare require bare arms from the elbows down but not scrubs.

I quite like the look of short sleeved jumpers. They go well with high waisted skirts or trousers. I do wear shirts but they are difficult to fit sometimes. A short sleeved jumper with no shirt under (worn like a t shirt) can look smarter than a buttoned shirt that wants to gape over the bust.

White stuff have two tops for £40 at the moment - would be £30 each, nice ones.
