So, 55, in pretty good shape and thought I didn't care about aging. I'm fit and active, young at heart etc etc. My face is no worse than it ever was, looks wise, I think might even look better in some ways than I did when I was young, having grown into myself and gained confidence.

However, the skin on my legs, particularly, is going very saggy and I've obviously clicked too much because my SM is full of collagen supplements, with promises of better skin and happier joints and muscles.

What are people's real experiences and if they're good, which brands?

I'm using the cheaper one from Nutrition Geeks (but keep forgetting you have to have it with Vitamin C). It's fine. I'm not sure what to look for re results really. I've used much more expensive liquid ones that tasted lovely but again, no idea if they help. . Quite a lot of people suggest it's pointless as you can't absorb collagen so who knows!

You can eat chicken skin and chicken feet apparently for the same effect.

I came to ask the exact question you have. I'm in undated with collagen ads and I'd love to hear real reviews, so I'm following!

My experience with collagen supplements is that I didn’t see a huge difference but my gut was deeply disturbed by it. I take turmeric and fish oil for my joints. Body brushing and body oil (I use Bio Oil) helps my skin FEEL Nice at least. And daily fake tan to stop my legs looking so blotchy.

Sadly, I think the collagen supplements are hope in a jar.

I have been taking the brand Absolute Collagen for about 18 months - I have it in a liquid type form but you can now get it as a powder. I think it does help - I’m 48 so I originally took it to prepare for menopause and if I’m honest to help a bit with making the most of my looks. My skin is definitely better and now has a dewy look. My nails grow loads and are strong. My hair is definitely thicker and I have re-growth in parts that I previously struggled with due to pregnancy.
I would say go for it! Don’t expect miracles overnight as it does take a few weeks to notice results and the brand I used is very expensive. Absolute Collagen is marine collagen which if I remember correctly is better for helping on the outside whereas bovine collagen is better to help with the inside (I think) If you email Absolute Collagen and ask for samples they do send you about 3 days worth which is what I did (the taste isn’t for everyone but you do get used to it)
Lots of different brands around now so be sure to do a bit of research. For me Absolute Collagen seemed the purest brand although Nutrition Geeks (bovine) does seem very good also and a lot, lot cheaper.
Hope this helps!

I took Ancient and Brave for about 6 months and didn’t see any difference. I switched to Willpowders and I’ve noticed an improvement in my skin and hair also my gut but I have also been taking Symprove so the gut symptoms could be due to that. Friends of mine have had other brands and not noticed a difference one who is now on the Willpowders collagen has said her hair is not falling out now so 🤷🏻‍♀️
