Almost 50 and face disintegrating! What now?

I’ve always had really good skin and looked young for my age. All of a sudden in my late 40’s, I’ve noticed my neck is crepey, eye lids are drooping and I’ve got lots of fine lines ( just caught glimpse of myself in a video)

what’s the best way to tackle this? Is it Botox? Or some kind of chemical peel.

i use all the usual skincare, but any tips on game changing products for menopausal skin appreciated!

I went through menopause last year and it seems to have devastated my face!

@Disturbia81 how can you tell? I've just started the combination patch and waiting for miracles to happen 😂

Not if you’re on hrt, I can really tell a difference in my friends who are on it and who aren’t. Plus if you look after yourself.

I look after myself and am on hrt, but I’ve noticed a real difference in how my body works. I need glasses for example. I have to work much harder to stay in shape and I developed belly fat for the first time ever.

There was a recent medical study which showed ageing isn’t gradual and there are certain points where we age markedly. 48 is one of them.

i think the differences you are noticing can easily be put down to people who look after themselves more also more likely to take hrt.

I actually think Botox is ageing, but not everyone thinks that way. so can be tricky to judge exactly

It’s also very genetic. My mum, aunts and grandmother all look young for their age and I’ve inherited it. But even with good genes, I’ve still noticed a big difference.

Botox and filler from a good practitioner
I’ve had fractional C02 laser eyes and face which helped crepey ness a lot
I’ve never got on with retinol despite about 9 tries unfortunately

Botox works great!

What are our thoughts on men looking older as they, er, get older?

Well that’s a whole other subject! And no one’s judging other women - just themselves.

Of course, it’s unfair and men are judged differently. But look at all the men going for hair transplants - vanity isn’t just a female thing.

but not really interested in men in this post.

Yes to Botox and filler, the ones who look weird are the ones who go too far. But little bits will keep your face up.

Are these treatments done at private hospitals or where? Thanks
