Nike Air Jordans - do they work for the (very) wide-footed child??

DS (nearly 10) has asked for a pair of these. He's been happily clumping around in Sketchers/Clarks but now wants something a bit cooler (and pricier) I guess. He is already a size 6 and has a H width in Clarks with a high instep. Has anyone with a similarly wide-footed child tried these and can recommend? Or recommend something similar? We're not near a shoe shop that stocks them, unfortunately. Thanks!

I have wide feet (also an H at Clark’s as a child) and a high instep and wear Jordans, find them plenty wide enough and very comfortable. Mine are mid or high but DS (even more ridiculously wide feet) happily wears a pair of the low ones. Lots on Vinted if you want to try something cheaper at first, I have a bit of a Jordan habit now and usually spend £20-25 for shoes in v good condition.

My dd is very wide fired and wet fine these were ok but air Jordan 4s were definitely better suited to her feet. Very expensive though and she’s adjusted to them…. At £200 ish a v pair it’sa very expensive habbit

I have a very wide footed teen and another with very narrow feet. Have found that generally Nike are narrower than adidas, but it still varies by style. There are some trendy adidas around that are cheaper than the jordans. As a size 6 you are out of kids sizes (some go up to six but usually 51/2.) Men’s shoes are wider so should accommodate the width fine, but even a women’s 6 could work better than ‘junior’. Just more expensive.
I am the other way around- have narrow feet so kids size 51/2 fits better than adult.

There is so much variation between styles it’s best to try lots of them on.
Have made the mistake of buying ‘cool’ trainers online, they like them so insist that they fit, but then after a while it becomes clear that they don’t…

Thanks SO much, everyone, for all the info. This is very useful and I didn't even consider Vinted so will have a looksy now. Ha @allgrownupnow similar situation with my DD (who also inherited her father's hobbit feet) insisting the v expensive trainers were perfect when the blisters told a different story.

I did suggest a solid pair from Next to DS who looked at me in horror. Oh well, I knew this day was coming.

I don’t know about Jordan’s, but I have wide feet and find Air Force 1s to be the widest fitting Nikes to the extent that I have to size down half a size. They are a similar ish look if that helps.
Nike have been really good with returns for us so if you can afford it I would order a couple of pairs and return the ones that fit less well.
