Glossy skin - what products do you recommend?

Everywhere I see women with gorgeous smooth, even-tanned, glossy arms and legs - what products do I need to get this look? I already exfoliate and use body lotion and have tried so many gradual tanners that just look patchy or streaky. My skin doesn't look or feel dry but I just can't achieve glossy and polished.

I think hydration and healthy eating are huge factors

Thanks, I do eat healthily and drink lots of water but it's the products that give you that glossy look I am looking for.

Is it fake tan and really well moisturised/oiled skin? I see a lot of my friends using a body bronzer also, think it's the bellamianta one.

I use a mixture of, Dove gradual tan mousse.
Shine Brown tan accelerator (you put it on after suncream and you tan quicker)
This Works moisturiser
Palmas shimmer body oil (both make your skin/tan look shimmery and glossy.
I’ve added pictures because the links are sharing on my phone for some reason.

On my face I use a sunblock instead of a cream and I use Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood filter mixed with a bit of foundation.

Possibly it is but moisturised with what though? Do I need a professional spray tan rather than the gradual tanner?

Sleep, hydration, healthy fats, a diet not very high in sugar and refined carbs. Try and reduce stress. Makes a huge difference. Far more than any of the off the counter potions and lotions.

I like bellamianta tan or vita liberata. I didn't ever get on with gradual tanners though I know some people love them. I use Eucerin moisturiser for very dry skin and it's brilliant and definitely gives the glossy look. Body oil also lovely.

Thanks - I have tried the Dove gradual tan, it went streaky. The This Works also goes streaky and doesn't look glossy. I will try the Shine Brown

I think Bellamianta might be what I am looking for - will give it a go.

Make sure you have no moisturiser on your skin before you apply. Best of luck.

anyzee · 26/07/2025 15:54

I think it's usually those aged 18 and under that can always pull this off! Either that or they are models or have professional make up artists at their beck and call, AND have lots of time to devote to this glossy perfection.

I've given up and back to basics for me. But I'm a fossil anyway so I don't care much about gloss anymore 😊

Glycolic acid but don't overuse it and ensure you moisturise it after will be a first step.

mikado1 · 26/07/2025 16:08

Oh yes there's an acid in the Eucerin moisturiser that I use too.

Any recommendations for Glycolic acid?
