finally got around to going and getting measured and fitted with some new bras today - haven't been since I had DS3......and was wearing my old 34/6 B/C ones.....

I'm actually a 30D

Spent FAR more than I planned to - but hey I even have a cleavage again

Wahey - excellent (sorry, that wasn't supposed to sound pervy, but it might have done).

Izzywhizzy · 27/05/2008 15:16

Couldn't agree more. being fitted properly changes your life- you get better looking boobs and no more back ache.

FAQ · 27/05/2008 15:20

LOL @ JackieNo.

Thankfully never had the backache (not big enough for that LOL) but certaily look a lot better.

And a fabulous shop - didn't even know it was there until this morning when I did a search for shops in our town - Contessa (who I used a few years ago and were crap) closed last year and I didn't think we had one in town anymore..

It's a small independent shop and she was lovely.........and I've got some sexy new undies........now when is my new man next coming round

I agree, I got measured last week at M&S, only place I could find to do it. I'm not entirely convinced though, as I always thought they ahd to measure under the boobs as well as round them. Well she jsut measured under mine and asked what size I thought I was, I said 38c, and she said "oh well you are 38D now" and went off to get me bras in that size. The normal non padded ones feel fine, but the t-shirt bras, which I like for work feel too tight

Izzywhizzy · 27/05/2008 15:36

I wouldn't go near M & S with a barge pole. I don't know anyone who's been fitted there properly. They always go too small on the cup and too big on the back.

Rigby and Peller and Bravissimo do it by just kind of looking at you.

expatinscotland · 27/05/2008 15:38

i've never been a position to afford to be measured for one or buy bras from a place that offers that sort of service.

and never will be.

so how a good-fitting bra is supposed to change things, i'll never know.

i think underwear's a rip off, but luckily i have a small bust.

Izzywhizzy · 27/05/2008 15:40

The trick is to get measured in an expensive shop and then buy your bras (in the correct size) from somewhere cheaper.

When you're a 36F, bras are a necessity- not a rip off.

expatinscotland · 27/05/2008 15:40

yeah, but some other shop's bras may fit differently/be made differently.

FAQ · 27/05/2008 15:41

expat - I did end up buying from this shop, but they do free measuring too .

yeah but she was really good as she told me what to look for, what bras just don't work on me etc etc so now I feel I can go to another (cheap) shop and try on a bra and make sure it fits ok...

My poor DS's - DS3 in his pushchair babbling away, DS2 wandering round looking quite bemused by nothing but lingerie and DS1 looking rather embarassed as we were in there for about 1hr!

I know exactly what you mean...
I was wearing my 36 c maternity bras which were grey and well washed but gave me lovely saggy boobs. I have been measured by a wonderful lady who told me I was a 32 D and I now have a rack to be proud of. They are actually on my chest as opposed to halfway down my tummy. A cheap boob job!

cheesesarnie · 27/05/2008 15:49

i saw the thing on gok wan where he helped the lady with little boobs.it was great!wish id written makes of bra down.
