Following a serious illness last year my usually thick hair began falling out in alarming big clumpfuls (which was a lovely added bonus after being so ill) due to telogen effluvium. My hair was long at the time and looked terrible after half of it had fallen out so I had it cut to a jaw length bob so it would look thicker and healthier (which worked.) It's now growing back (hurrah) which is great, but I currently have a halo of wispy frizz all over my head about two inches long (boo.)
I'm fairly pragmatic about it because compared to how unwell I was a few months ago, it's only hair, and it's growing back so it's all fine. At the same time, it would be nice to look in the mirror occasionally and not see Doc Brown from Back To The Future staring back at me. I haven't yet reached Boris Johnson levels of hair fuckery, so at least there's that.
Does anyone who has been through this have any tips on how to deal with this stage? I'm hoping that as the new growth gets a bit longer it'll calm the fuck down, but currently I'm walking around looking like I've put my fingers in a plug socket and/or just rubbed a balloon on my head. If I have to just put up with it and wait it out, it's no big deal, but I just thought I'd ask if anyone had any ideas to make it look less WTF during this hair raising (literally) transition period.
