Metal compacts that you can pop your powder refill. This is due to the hinge on my plastic bronzer compact breaking.

CoastalCalm · 17/07/2025 08:23

Corn silk loose powder

Harbourofdiscovery · 17/07/2025 08:25

Ha ha, I have a tiny tiny bit left in a very old bottle, it still smells the same, I have kept it for sentimental reasons.

RosesAndHellebores · 17/07/2025 08:26

Bourjois make-up in every other UK chemist/pharmacy. I can still buy their little round blusher in France but nothing else compares whatever the price.

Bally shoes.

Laura Ashley on every high Street.

Early 90s brown makeup. Yes it still exists, but the style is not as ... brown, somehow.

Recently I was looking at stills from the original Twin Peaks series, with all the actors in this colour palette, and they looked amazing.

nahthatsnotforme · 17/07/2025 08:34

Headscarves.

Steelworks · 17/07/2025 08:37

Avon used to do a highlighter pack (late 80s). It was like a mascara brush and you dipped it in the small bottle (gold or silver) and ran it through your hair. Instant highlights. Loved it as a teen.

The thing I miss the most from the 90s/2000s is the Estee Lauder spotlight cream. They've got some new one but it's not the same. It had a slight iridescence that wasn't sparkly and just made you look really well. None to be found now. Maybe Westman Atilier Lit looks a possible dupe but it's a little expensive. And no guarantee it will be as good. (It won't be).

Bally shoes!!! I'd totally forgotten about them!

Soft Talk perfume by Miss Selfridge.

Helpnifoseeker · 17/07/2025 09:02

Corn Silk loose and compact powders and Aqua Manda! It was my favourite sent ever, it was relaunched recently but as it was so expensive and lots of people were saying it wasn't the same at all, I didn't bother with it! They didn't even have the beautiful carved lids anymore and the packaging was just a bit plain and boring! The original packaging was so pretty and part of the pleasure of Aqua Manda. I haven't seen it for a while so I imagine it wasn't a successful relaunch and no wonder!

Ultima II Sheer Scent perfume. Absolute heaven.

Headscarves.

Yes. Remember the ones that were really popular in the early 2000s? They were fabulous for bad hair days. I'd love them to come back. Or the full headscarf like my granny/the Queen used to wear to keep their perms neat.

I remember my mum wearing them and still have a few of her favourites, some from the 50s.

I still do this! I have a vintage Stratton compact and I just winkle the pressed powders out of the plastic ones and stick them in.

Notellinganyone · 17/07/2025 09:36

@RosesAndHellebores - Superdrug still sell Bourjois. Not a massive selection these days but a range.

Notellinganyone · 17/07/2025 09:38

Body Shop Viennese Chalk and their honey and oat face mask.

TotallyFloored · 17/07/2025 09:43

Estee Lauder do refillable power compacts (in the states anyway - nearly got one when I was on holiday recently - some beautiful jewelled compacts).

MrsMoastyToasty · 17/07/2025 09:43

The victorian bustle. Not that I would really need one as my bum is big enough as it is.

Isn't this just the older version of a Brazilian butt lift?
