Can anything actually be done with this hair?

This is my hair drying naturally after about 1.5 hours. Still a little damp underneath.

It has a natural curl but ultra frizzy, as you can see. Is there actually any products or treatment that would genuinely help take it so I could avoid drying and straightening every time I wash it?

Im sick of spending money on products that promise the world and do sweet FA.

My hair is very similar. I’ve tried loads of things but really hate the feel of product on my hair and have to be able to brush it, so a lot of the curly/wavy techniques involving lots of (often expensive) styling products don’t suit me.

The easiest/cheapest/simplest thing I’ve found that works on mine is wash and condition as normal (I avoid SLS and silicones) and apply a fairly basic hair oil on the mids to ends, brush (I do a centre part and tuck firmly behind my ears) and leave to dry. It does go a bit frizzy as it dries but when I brush it, it goes into manageable waves. Not always the direction I’d like, and it always looks lovely when I don’t need it to and never when I do, but it’s presentable with no sticky product and minimal effort. I still use heat to style it occasionally but the condition is good as that’s probably a few times a month at most.

Only shampoo every second or third wash, do a conditioner co-wash the other times. Squeeze out excess water but don't rub it with a towel. Use a few squirts of Milkshake Incredible leave in conditioner (orange bottle) and comb through with fingers if needed then let it dry by 'plopping' it in a curly hair towel wrap. Use a little curly hair mousse for extra waves.

Have you tried methane? I’ve got similar frizzy hair but started using this a couple of weeks ago and it’s been great so far

Ditch heat tools.

Water only.

Condition occasionally.

Never shampoo.
