Med type holiday
I always imagine I'll spend all my time applying moisturiser and stuff and I don't.
im determined not to over pack beauty stuff this year
is it just me? What do you take and what do you never use?

Daytime - my usual day cream (Drunk Elephant La La) and SPF50 (Ultraviolette Queen Screen).

Evening - Erborian BB cream, concealer, powder, bronzer, blush, eyeshadow stick, eyeliner and mascara.

Night - balm cleanser, glycolic acid face wash, night cream.

I basically take smaller versions of what i use at home: deodorant, chub rub roll on. Spf. Always still double cleanse, toner , serum, moisturizer, sheet masks, hair masks along with shampoo and conditioner. Hair products. Body lotion, aloe for any soreness. Just everything.
Have to say I love my beauty products.

Yeah, I never do extra skin care on holiday. So I take mini or decanted versions of my usual basic skincare or travel/gift sized skincare I like and have but don't use routinely (usually because too expensive - so that's my "treat"). eg I quite like the Murad Vitamin C face wash for the shower in the morning and it's a lovely orange smell so I like that on holiday.

Otherwise, bog standard:

Cleanser, retinol, moisteriser for night.
Cleanser for shower, vitamin C, moisteriser (with SPF).

I might toss an extra moisterising serum or moisteriser in to protect from sun etc. And I'll take a good body lotion.

But that's it.

Only extra I do on a beach holiday is sun screen for my hair ( Im silver/grey ) and my body

Everything else is my normal, but just small travel sizes and never too many products

L'occitane shea butter in a travel tin is my godsend. I use it to tame the hair, for my lips and eyebrows, cuticles, heels , elbows - anywhere that needs moisture or taming basically but I am very low maintenance abroad. Bit of blush and highlighter and thats me done

Nuxe l’huile prodigeuse; I particularly love the gold one for summer. It’s the only makeup I use. Goes on arms, legs, collarbones and of course face. The newer, pink version is also lovely and gives a very healthy glow. Finally, the basic version is a great moisturiser for the body.

Edited to add that I obviously use loads of sunscreen. I stock up during the year in the parapharmacie sales (I'm in France), but otherwise my usual very minimal skincare routine doesn’t change.

If I'm going somewhere super hot I'll take face antiperspirant.

Otherwise, just a miniature version of what I normally use. Any makeup will be the glowy summery kind and waterproof.

I still cleanse, tone and moisturise even on holiday.I used a tinted moisturiser when we were having a day at the hotel or just going to the beach, and some lipstick. If we were doing excursions then I did my regular makeup. I used the rodial primer. It was excellent and my makeup didn't budge.

Fannyy · 17/07/2025 06:31

Yeah I love Nuxe too. I recently got their roll on oil and it's brilliant. Also love the neroli one. But my point is not what you do
it's do you have ideas of doing more than you would usually do? 😆

Interested about the make-up thing isn't it. I love makeup, but I'm not shackled by it so a red lipstick would probably do for me.

I usually take a stronger lip colour than I would use at home, and I add to my haircare a bit (sun protection spray for the beach/pool and Elasticiser a couple of times each week) but otherwise everything else is the same, just In smaller sizes. I have a very simple routine though - no masks or retinols etc. Same simple routine with makeup - primer, bronzer, blush, eyeliner, mascara and lippie. That’s it.
