Compression/support tights?

Yes, I really did mean to put this in Style and Beauty 😅

Can anyone please recommend comfortable and nice looking support/compressing tights for varicose veins?

I have “mild” varicose veins I.e. assessed as not needing surgery, but they are very, very lumpy and my whole leg just looks like one big bruise. I also find if I go without support socks for long they get worse.

I have been using these support socks, which work well and are really comfortable, but I can’t wear them with dresses. The combination of the socks plus the chub-rub shorts if the wind caught my dress - not good!

I’d love something like snags, but with compression. It would be so nice to be able to wear skirts again. Any ideas?

I’ve lived in support tights for years because of the beastly varicose veins 🥲. Hate them. I wear John Lewis support tights but tend to live in light weight trousers during the summer as it’s difficult to find invisible summer support tight although I’ve heard that Wolford do them

Thanks @ArcticBells I’ll take a look at those. I also realised after I posted that Snag now do support tights, but not medical grade. I might give them a try though.

I have saved up and am getting my varicose veins done in the autumn (you can't fly for four weeks afterwards) and was wondering about Snag's compression tights afterwards. I've been in grade II compression socks to the knee since last summer and I'm not sure that light compression will cut it.

I know you want tights but may I also recommend TLC's 'extra strong compression leggings'? https://tlcsport.co.uk/collections/medical-compression-leggings?srsltid=AfmBOoq3okUUf0piRoT2YdxRzUZd7OCA_9DguJNja3Twj1Jxs-SCiigq. They are expensive but absolutely brilliant. The high-waisted ones have the additional benefit of cinching your waist too!

I’ve considered having mine done however I’m worried they’ll come back in worse and more visible places. Mine are back of knee/calf which at least I can cover with longer length dresses/skirts. My aunt had hers done and they came back around her ankles

Mine couldn’t be any more visible tbh and after a horrible venous ulcer which took months to heal they can’t get much worse!

TBF I could have had mine done (on NHS). The surgeon was willing, but he did say that they would just come back, that he wouldn’t recommend it if I were on the fence about it, and that if it were him he wouldn’t have the procedure.

I like the look of the leggings @TheDowagerLadyUrsula but some of mine are on my ankle so I don’t think they’d work for me.
