Stopping double strap sandals from rubbing feet and causing blisters?

I recently bought new sandals from New Look. Wore for first time today and they've rubbed the tops of my feet raw!

I'd be interested to know if this has happened to anyone else with this type of sandal.

Anyway to stop it happening again?

Or am I better off getting a better quality brand eg Birkenstock?
Or a different type of sandal altogether?

I suppose it could just be the shape of your feet

I wear suede Birkenstocks specifically so they don’t have a chance to rub and they never have

I’m sure you can get similar in M&S

I have knock off Bostons and gizehs from Lidl which don’t rub my feet but they’re for the garden and taking out the bins. They’re nowhere near as comfortable as my birkies especially the sole and footbed but ok for short wear time.

The whole and only point of Birkenstocks is the fact they are built to be comfortable for your feet. They just happen to become trendy but that’s because they’re comfortable and have been specifically designed that way.

So wearing a ‘double strapped’ version for ‘fashion’ purposes kind of defies the point

however they are expensive so try the M&S version as they’re apparently fairly decent

The straps aren't supposed to be tight so they shouldn't rub. Your feet grip the footbed as you walk, the straps stop them falling off. That's how birkies work anyway, I've never had any rubbing from them.

Thanks for the suggestions 🙂

I didn't have the straps particularly tight. Maybe I have weird shaped feet lol.

I'll look at the m&s ones and see if they feel any better (once my feet heal).

Second the moleskin suggestion- only way I can wear my dr martens sandals (which are now very comfy). But also, you’d never regret getting proper Birkenstocks!

Was it the edges or the width that rubbed. If the former rub soap o. The straps

As someone who blisters badly I like my straps tighter so they don't move. You could try anti friction cream too
