Something nice that doesn't smudge and make you look like a panda especially in the summer?

Maybelline have always been the best in my opinion, or if you are on a budget one I’m currently using a revolution one thats costs £4.99 and doesn’t smudge at all! Great for an everyday mascara

I think it's my sunscreen to be honest that interferes with it. I used to use Bobbi Brown's "no smudge" one (how ironic)

Will check out Suqqu.

I've got oily eyelids so I always have problems with mascaras melting onto my face. Tubing mascara can sometimes crumble and I find you can't layer so well (but that's my experience). waterproof was a game changer for me

I use wowcombo tubing mascara. I remove it with warm water and a sponge or alternatively it comes off easily under the shower

Maybeline great lash for me ,either black ,blackest black ,thick brush (i think this one says BIG on the container) or the finer brush version.
I have worn mascara almost daily for the last 44 years and this is the only one i use now after trying endless makes .

I’ve just got the Victoria Bachman one and love it

ELF tubing mascara was recommended on here. It’s truly really good.

Get a next beauty box !! I think it’s the birthday one but you’ll get a full size iconic black mascara in that is really lovely, a full size posh body cream, some hair stuff and a nail varnish £22 bargain !!

The Glossier one is great - gives the lashes colour without weighing them down, and doesn't clump. Natural looking.

Thanks everyone! How do you people feel about brown mascara? I like brown eyeliner as it is less harsh but not sure if brown mascara also looks softer or just is the same as black

It definitely looks softer on me. I’m blonde and pale so black looks really harsh on me.
I found it hard to find a good brown mascara that wouldn’t smudge on me. Benefit They’re Real was brilliant in brown but that was discontinued, they do a brown primer which the was recommended as an alternative at the Benefit counter but it smudged easily. Clinique Lash Power works just as well on me though and the brown shade is called Dark Chocolate so it’s not a light brown but it’s still softer than black for me.

I bought into the ‘black mascara is harsh’ thing for a while until I realised I had never noticed what colour mascara anyone was wearing.

I had an appointment at a Lisa Eldridge counter recently and was recommended the black because the brown was too warm for my skin tone.

Great point!

Yes I’ve tried brown and plum and even though brown should suit me, it doesn’t either - it’s probably for the same reason!

Isabelle70 · 05/07/2025 10:37

I like the No7 stay perfect tubing mascara, it’s a white and rose gold tube. I am fair and I always used to get brown but this one is black and looks fine not harsh at all.
I still use a brown liner.
