I need help finding an outfit to wear to a wedding. Not lost baby weight yet (had dieted down to size 16-18 before fell pregnant), am currently 20-22 . Still breastfeeding so boobs disproportionately huge! (but baby staying with granny, so dont need to 'get them out' on the day). Don't like big floaty things, prefer more fitted stuff, prefer colour to neutrals. Any ideas? Lor

Just spotted this which might work, as it's quite structured (and a bargain).

Thanks for all the help. Tried the pink applique boden dress but didnt fit around the breastfeeding boobs. But I just got this www.monsoon.co.uk/invt/35208541 and I LOVE it! (hope link works, not tried before) Got purple cardi to go with it, cant find right colour of purple shoes so am going to get ivory shoes & bag I think. And going to wear it to another wedding in September so I have an excuse not to diet for another 2 months! Cheers guys!

hey, can i ask you where it comes to on your legs? i am a 18-20 (more 20!) and 5 ft 4. i am looking for a dress for a wedding but cant get to the shops without lulu till next weekend. i sw this dress but thought it might make me look too short. just wondering where it sits on you?

danielsmumlor · 10/07/2008 22:01

Hi lizandlulu, it comes to I guess 3 or 4 inches below knee (Dan asleep in same room as dress so dont want to wake him to check!) I found it really quite flattering on, it kind of skims over the less attractive bits (I think its what they call bias cut but not too knowledgable on stuff like that)without looking too maternity like lots of the stuff I tried on. Just don't wear it to the same wedding as me!

I was looking at that dress for a Christening I have to go to in September. Do you think it is suitable for a Christening? I've never been to one before so don't really know what people wear to them but can't get out of going as it's the Christening of my surrogate twins I gave birth to. Also, did you buy it in store? Online it only seems to go up to a size 12 and I am a 16

lizandlulu · 11/07/2008 14:27

wow goingslowlymad, that ill be a really special occasion! yes i think it would be perfect for that. i know what you mean about not knowing what to wear. so people dress quite casual, but most do dress smart.
it is in the stores too

No, my friend's wedding is in Scotland, hopefully no-one else will turn up in it. I bought mine in store. Had decided I was going to wear a dress I already had & was looking for accesories, then saw this one & just had to have it! I think it would be lovely for a christening, maybe dress it down with flatties and a cardi to make it less formal (i'm not good at formal wear, there are a couple of v dressy jackets in Country Casuals that match perfectly; I'm going for the cardi option but with heels, much more 'me')

try something which makes the most of your curves. such as a fitted high-empire line dress with a v-neck.
