OK, help needed. Strapless bras that actually lift the breasts, do they exist?

Bought a gorgeous top but will need a strapless bra. Went to have one fitted today but boobs were hunging very low so opted for a Braza reveal silicone bra as the lady said they would give more lift but OH MY GOD my tits look awfull in them, DH said it looked like a bodged boobjob

Do you think I need some more practise as how to plop 'em in there or are they a waste of money?

Any ideas as to what a good strapless bra is? Many thanks

I'll be watching this with interest pickie - especially difficult for me as I need a 28 or 30 back (hardly any around). Have yet to try one on that feels right!

Defies gravity sounds ace RR! DD too big for me though - will google for a D. Cheers.

norkmaiden · 24/05/2008 14:24

Pickie, I normally like lepel, but their strapless are useless imo. Marie Jo make amazing bras but are around £50 and I know it's false economy but I'm too tight to spend that on a strapless which I will only wear rarely!

pickie · 24/05/2008 14:25

Cod should do a piece on this

Thanks RR, has anyone tried the Marie Jo one? Can be worn as a normal bra, strapless and like a bikini so seems a good contender but will it defies gravity?

NM, X posts but they do one that is also a normal one but yes a lot money and near here there is not a shop i could try before buying.

I've never tried a proper MJ strapless bra, but I have an avero multiway, which is fab. (can get away with this as a strapless, as long as whatever you're wearing on top is fairly high cut where the straps go iyswim). You're right, though, unless you happen to have a fab local lingerie shop you'd have to order online (eg rigby & peller) and try it that way

pickie · 24/05/2008 14:51

Oh that was the one I was looking at! Will go and have a look if I can find a site that has it in stock plus accepts returns just in case. (or lure DH into looking after DC and go to London for the day

is lovely lovely bra - I only wish I could afford a stack of them!! You won't be disappointed.

dinny · 24/05/2008 15:12

I got two really good ones from New Look for £7, they are surprisingly excellent

foxinsocks · 24/05/2008 15:13

no, imo.

posieparker · 24/05/2008 15:15

wonderful website for those of us that felt a little 'let down' by pregnancy!!

norkmaiden · 24/05/2008 15:15

New Look dinny - really?!! Ah just thought they probably don't do small back sizes (or do they?)

norkmaiden · 24/05/2008 15:16

Cheers for link posie - waht would you recommend??

posieparker · 24/05/2008 15:17

Most of them can handle a chicken fillet as well as a little lift, whichever you fancy!!
I am enjoying nature's own silicone and am pregnant!!! At a push double gel!!

posieparker · 24/05/2008 15:18

That was meant as in I am pregnant and don;t need a lift as opposed to I have a breast enlargement and pregnant, jeez.

norkmaiden · 24/05/2008 15:20

Thanks posie - just had a flick through and they seem to start at 32 back, not going to do anything for me unfort.

(and yes I got what you mean with the silicon thing, no worries )

dinny · 24/05/2008 15:28

ah, not sure, NM, I am 34

but maybe...worth checking out?

pickie · 24/05/2008 15:30

Posie, thanks for that link, will have a good look although I am very tempted to go for the Marie Jo Avero but the idea of fillets is tempting ( yes the pregnancy lift is great shame it doens stay like that)

Never been to New Look for underwear but iwll have a look next week

there is the double gel at 30aa and up.

pickie · 25/05/2008 20:04

Just found out that there is a lingerie shop nearby so will go and see if they stock Marie Jo

Ok, been to the shop (called Joy) and bought THE strapless bra, made by Huit. The lady was very helpful and had a good play and jiggle about and it is a perfect fit! (bought 3 more bras- was a bit like a sweetie shop!)
